Private Investigation: The Essentials [Monday, Period Four]

Arranged around the campfire today were two large garbage dumpsters, filled to the brim with, well. Garbage. Don't ask how Jake managed to get them out there. Or how he was going to arrange removing them.

"Right, so. Detective work isn't all about plantin' bugs and asking questions. Sometimes, ye got to get dirty- literally. In each of these bins is a piece of evidence relevant to a case regarding a robbery of a video game store that occured last night where the front window was smashed in and there were some unidentifiable skidmarks on the floor inside.

"Now," he gestured to the dumpsters. "Divide up into two teams, and... start digging. Pick out anything ye feels is relevant, and label it with the time you discovered it and why you feel it's so."

Lindsay stared at the dumpsters. "Seriously?"

Diana glanced at the garbage bin. "Ew."

Bruce had gotten a whiff of his locker earlier, so this smell wasn't that bad in comparison. With that in mind, Bruce jumped into the dumpster and started searching.

Can you conclude anything about the perpetrators of this particular crime based on the evidence you've found? Feel free to make stuff up!

"I was in the closet last week." Diana sort of explained. "You play hockey?"

"Only the kind that involves yelling 'car' every five minutes," Jake admitted. "I grew up on a busy street."

"Know anyone named Dean?" Diana tried. How did he usually do this? She knew hockey was involved, and sometimes someone's aunt...

"Mister Doyle?" Bruce said, approaching the instructor. "I'd like to apologize for missing class last week. I was out of the country for a few days and couldn't get back in time."

"Jake, b'y, Jake," he corrected Bruce. "Alls you missed was introductions, anyway, so if you can tell me who ye are, we'll call it even."

"Bruce Wayne," Bruce said. "That's probably the simplest makeup assignment I've ever had."

I'm around till about 1:30PST, and then back by 6:30. Gotta love getting my hours cut just before vacation. Really.
