The Danger Room has been programmed to resemble the press briefing room at the White House. On each chair is the student's name on an etched brass plaque. Make sure you only sit in the chair with your name on it.

At the ends of each rows are thick folders rubber banded to a large stack of books. Behind the lectern is a white pull down screen covering the seal of the United States of America.

CJ stands at the lectern, wearing her glasses. She looks up as the students enter the room and checks their name off the list.

Honor System, Gang. If YOU know you have detention, please serve it. Not all the teachers submitted information, or else there were late additions. Thanks.

Ok. It's Saturday. It's detention. I'm supposed to mention about your wicked, wicked ways...yeah, not going to do that. Work harder. Quit screwing around. In some misguided attempt to keep you all sane and alive I signed up for this gig, so let's make the best of a bad situation, and make CJ happy, ok? [She smiles]

All right gang, this is going to be as painless or as painful as you choose for it to be. I want you in groups of not more than four. You each have a different stack of information. These are reports that are sent to the government so we can decide what to give money to. We had an intern, Winnie, and she's read them all and briefed me on them.

Your detention, since most of you are here for not doing your homework, is to consolidate the information, come up with a coherant presentation, and then get up here and present your findings to the rest of us. If you do it well, single moms and garbagemen get to keep on making a living. If not, you damage the environment, poison the masses, and generally create hell on Earth and destroy our noble Democracy as we know it.

But first, we're going to watch a couple films to help orient you to politics as I know and love them.

[Walks to the back, flips off the lights, and starts an old fashioned reel projector. Footage of the Kennedy-Nixon debates flashes on the screen at the front of the room and the lights dim so they can watch.]

I will post sub threads for different detention activities through the day.

Veronica considers this for a moment.

"What about a game show that teaches convicts right from wrong?"

Parker chortled, waking up a little.

"Works for me! Who wants to be Donny Osmond?"

Veronica chuckles.

"I vote for Connor, since you, me & Rory are about the unlikeliest criminals in the world."

"Seconded! No offense, Connor. But we're so sweet and innocent...." Parker smirks. "What, you don't see me getting convicted of insider trading at some point in the future?"

Connor doesn't tell them he has dreams about ridding the world of criminals.

"It's the doube N thing, isn't it?" He sighs and sheakes his head. "Okay. Call me Donnie."

"Allright, let's see... Q & A, winning more and more money as you answer why crime doesn't pay; demonstrate that you can resist temptation, somehow; and eat a live insect."

"I'm up for pretty much everything except that eating a live insect thing. Are you a big Fear Factor fan?"

"Money and disgusting terror. Of course I am. Plus, I actually can eat a live bug, and I'm betting neither you nor Rory can."

"Well you're at least half right," Veronica says.

"Make a up a crime and background for the intro part, we'll do that during the presentation." Parker is grinning. "And a few questions. Crime-based and prison-based, of course."

"I'd...rather not, Parker," Rory replies, making a face.

"Okay, Donnie," Veronica says with a grin.

"So what kind of questions should we have Donnie ask us? And what point exactly do we want to make?"

"I think eating a live insect demonstrates commitment."

"We could go for the hard-nosed questions. Like, what's the maximum legal punishment for a wide variety of crimes. Or we could go silly with things like, how many inmates die each year as a direct result of eating prison food."

"See, I like this. More motivation to go to college. Although, our cafeteria food compares unfavorably to prison food...." Parker notes.

Rory grins, after lunch, after she picks up her notes and remember's Connor's idea.

"I like that. Do you guys want to formulate questions now, or improv as we go?"

"I guess we're going to have to improve as we go, since Professor Cregg wants us to start giving our presentations now."

"Ah...do you guys want to try to get it over with, then?"

"Works for me. The sooner we get it done, the sooner we get out of here, right?"

She looks for Parker and Connor.

[ooc: We have god-mod rights with Connor...want to just set up him and our girls as starting the presentation, and then wait for Parker?]
