The Danger Room has been programmed to resemble the press briefing room at the White House. On each chair is the student's name on an etched brass plaque. Make sure you only sit in the chair with your name on it.

At the ends of each rows are thick folders rubber banded to a large stack of books. Behind the lectern is a white pull down screen covering the seal of the United States of America.

CJ stands at the lectern, wearing her glasses. She looks up as the students enter the room and checks their name off the list.

Honor System, Gang. If YOU know you have detention, please serve it. Not all the teachers submitted information, or else there were late additions. Thanks.

Ok. It's Saturday. It's detention. I'm supposed to mention about your wicked, wicked ways...yeah, not going to do that. Work harder. Quit screwing around. In some misguided attempt to keep you all sane and alive I signed up for this gig, so let's make the best of a bad situation, and make CJ happy, ok? [She smiles]

All right gang, this is going to be as painless or as painful as you choose for it to be. I want you in groups of not more than four. You each have a different stack of information. These are reports that are sent to the government so we can decide what to give money to. We had an intern, Winnie, and she's read them all and briefed me on them.

Your detention, since most of you are here for not doing your homework, is to consolidate the information, come up with a coherant presentation, and then get up here and present your findings to the rest of us. If you do it well, single moms and garbagemen get to keep on making a living. If not, you damage the environment, poison the masses, and generally create hell on Earth and destroy our noble Democracy as we know it.

But first, we're going to watch a couple films to help orient you to politics as I know and love them.

[Walks to the back, flips off the lights, and starts an old fashioned reel projector. Footage of the Kennedy-Nixon debates flashes on the screen at the front of the room and the lights dim so they can watch.]

I will post sub threads for different detention activities through the day.

She looks to where Professor Cregg is seated, cuddling a bunny rabbit.

Her eyes get wide. "Logan is a rabbit?" she asks.

"To my everlasting joy-- or for as long as he has a thing for carrots-- yes. Don't ask how it happened." Parker's smile is very damn wicked as she says this.

Veronica tries to contain her laughter, but the thought of bad ass Logan Echolls as a cute wittle bunny rabbit is much too amusing.

She laughs out loud and then tosses a sympathetic look at Rory.

"Thank you for making detention a worthwhile experience," she says to Parker.

"Here to be of service to society. Or, you know. Other people who might want to strangle Echolls in his sleep," Parker mutters under her breath.

Veronica raises an eyebrow and lowers her voice.

"Not an Echolls fan?"

She wonders exactly how much Parker knows about her former relationship with Logan because it's obvious she knows something.

"I got stuck with him at the other end of the leash in the Ethics class Master-Slave set-up. And no," Parker looks at Rory, "sorry, but you know he gets on my nerves even on a good day, Rory. On bad days..." Parker makes a face.

She cocks an eyebrow at Veronica. "So how much of what was printed about Aaron Echolls in Us magazine was true, and how much did they make up for the circulation figures?"

Veronica is slightly uncomfortable discussing this in front of Rory, but at least Logan is out of earshot.

"I don't know," she says, "I didn't read any of the media coverage. What do you want to know?"

Parker cocks her head, studying Veronica. "Did he really try to kill you with a refridgerator?"

Veronica winces.

"Well, he locked me in a refrigerator and then poured gasoline around it and set it on fire."

[ooc: oh noes! V may have an emo moment...]

"And to quote someone I used to know... once someone's called the cops, no matter what, the relationship is over." Parker shakes her head, looking troubled. "Sorry to hear it was true. Glad you're okay, though."

She looks back up where C.J. is cuddling Logan. "Angelus was really interested when he found that magazine with the story on Logan's dad in the library."

Veronica shrugs, but doesn't want to get into how and why she & Logan actually split up.

"It's in the past."

Her eyes narrow. "Yeah, Angelus caught up to me a week or so ago and was asking me about it. He seemed concerned about Logan."

[ooc: she had a panic attack a few weeks back w/hank. it annoys me muchly that the after effects of her trauma haven't been dealt with in canon]

Parker's lips thin as Rory takes notes, and she keeps her voice low. "Anything and anyone that Angelus is interested in is usually in a *lot* of trouble. Concerned, my shapely ass."

_{[[ahhh. And yes, I can see that would be annoying.]]}

Veronica rolls her eyes. Apparently Parker is one of the people that thinks Angelus is evil. But V hasn't gotten an evil vibe from him and he seemed really sincere in his concern for Logan.

"Logan has an innate talent for finding trouble, he's never needed help getting in to it before," she says. She pointedly looks to the bunny in CJ's arms. "Exhibit A," she adds.

Parker grins. "True enough," she says lightly. "And if he doesn't want saving from his good buddy...." She shrugs.

Rory rolls her eyes.

"Yes, he's a rabbit, and no, I don't know how. But he's fairly indignant over it. It's really funny."
