The workshop was meeting out by the campfire because... well, because this was summer camp and Jake was pretty sure that's how things were supposed to go. At least none of them looked like juvenile delinquents. That was a good sign.

"Afternoon, b'ys," he greeted the lot of them. "You're here because you want to learn a thing or two about being a detective, and I'm here to be teachin' ye that."

"So hows about we start with tellin' me your name, and instead of something about yourself, since this is a class about detective work, I wants ye to tell me something you've observed about someone else in the class. For example, my name's Jake, and I'll have none of this Mr. Doyle stuff, just Jake, and I can tell that she," he jabbed a thumb at Harper, "makes her own clothes. A right clever seamstress, that one."

"And if you can't figure something out about someone in the class for real, pull something out of your arse. Lying convincingly is a useful skill in the field of private investigation." He waved a hand at someone random. "G'wan now, luh."

Once the introductions had finished, he added, "And one more thing. I'm looking for a TA, so if anyone feels like that's something they'd be interested in, come talk to me."

Not that it's much of one, today. Or talk amongst yourselves, or pass notes.

Harper was beaming at Jake throughout the short lecture. He'd called her clever.

Lindsay was wondering how she ended up in this class. She wasn't complaining, though. She was certain it was not picked by her parents. That's was not necessarily a bad thing at all.

Momoko was excited about this class. Another angle on crime fighting and being a hero!

And tell Jake something you've deduced about a classmate.

Momoko raised her hand cheerfully. "Hi! My name is Momoko Akatsutsumi! And..." She looked around the room. "Is it cheating to use someone I already know?"

Especially if you'd like that TA spot...

OMG, first FH class (not counting one posted as a TA last year) in like four years. HOLD ME, GUYS.

And, yes, availability: around this morning till about 12:30 PST, and then in the evening.
