"Welcome to the study hall for Friday, Sept--"

Principal Connor stops talking, raises her gun, and shoots at something in the corner of the room. Instead of a bullet, a net flies out and covers a tiny squealing creature covered in green fur. She picks it up by its ears and scowls.

"I thought you were supposed to be in the dungeons. C'mon, you little squealer. Back you go."

Principal Connor stalks off, the creature still dangling from her grasp. Over her shoulder, she calls out, "You kids might want to keep out for more of these stupid things. Their bites can make you do really weird things. Really weird."

Jubilee spots a familiar face, gets up from her chair and bounds over to sit next to Veronica with a big grin on her face.

"Hey, I've seen you around campus, I think. Veronica, right? I keep trying to meet new people, but I keep getting waylaid by, like, tentacle monsters and teeny little Yetis. I swear, this place is going to totally devour my social life. And my arms, if I'm not careful."

She leans over and spots Veronica's homework. "Journalism, huh? I hear the teacher's a total nutjob."

Veronica watches the bubbly girl in front of her carefully. No one is that happy without chemical enhancement unless they're hiding something.

"Hi, Jubilee, it's nice to meet you. I agree, it's been tough meeting new people this week in all the first week chaos. At least we're all new together."

Veronica gets an idea.

"Hey, why don't you join us for dinner tonight? We're checking out the chinese restaurant (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/3459.html) in town."

"Really? I'd love to come." Jubilee's stomach rumbles pointedly. "Chinese food is the best. I've figured out that if I just inhale everything in sight, it saves on chewing time."

Veronica pointedly eyes the girls figure.

"You must have been blessed with a great metabolism"
