Maritime Safety, [Monday, Period Three]

Bond's class met one final time down by the docks, where a number of water-craft waited for them, including a motorboat, a jet-ski, a row-boat, and several sets of snorkels and flippers.

"Good morning, class," Bond greeted them. "This is our final class, and we'll be putting what you've been learning into practice."

He gestured out into the water where a number of buoys were set up, outlining a zig-zagging course. "As you can see, I've set up a course for you to go though one one at a time. You can use your choice of the provided craft, or swim if you choose to. This is not so much a race as a test of skill, the object is complete the course with the minimum amount of errors."

"So who's up first?"

[ooc: wait for ocd up!]

The only real problem Hiccup faced was the almost overwhelming temptation to skip the course in favour of getting a better look at the motor.

That fight successfully won, he took the boat out onto the course. Sensible actually got a look in as he kept his speed low, and after steering a dragon at top speed, steering the boat successfully through the buoys wasn't too much of a challenge.

Except for that one. "Oh that's not good." He quickly glanced over his shoulder, smiling in relief when the buoy bobbed back up to the surface, and continued the rest of the course without incident.

And without taking apart the motor.

Kyle felt most comfortable with the jet ski, so he instead decided to go for practice on the row boat. He had the upper body strength to keep going through to the end, but trying to coordinate the oars slowed him down.
