Physical Education, Monday, Fourth Period

This morning Gunn had received a handwavy message from Guy. Apparently he couldn't be there for class today and since Gunn had been so critical about the class lately then Gunn could teach the class while he was out.

So after posting a notice for everyone to meet at the Danger Room, Gunn went in and after some trial and error managed to get a setup that wasn't too dissimilar to his old haunts in LA.

"Listen up," Gunn said after everyone had signed in. "The coach couldn't be here today so he put me in charge. So if you just want to hang out or just leave it's fine by me. I'm not going rat you out. Otherwise you can run the obstacle course that I used to have my crew run in my old neighborhood. First person who calls it 'free running' gets a complimentary kick in the butt by yours truly. And if you need inspiration, just pretend you're being chased by angry bloodsuckers. Right? Okay."

Gunn clapped his hands together as if that answered all the questions. "So either get out of here or let's get to it!"

If Kennedy looked a lot more relaxed and easygoing this week than she had most of last, well... she'd had a great weekend. She also, as she stretched out in preparation, looked way too eager about running the obstacle course, but that wasn't remotely unusual.

Jaime's first reaction was relief. So much relief. He could come to class and not get that migraine the Scarab seemed to insist was part of the package when a Green Lantern was around.

He wasn't so sure about the whole obstacle course thing, but he was feeling pretty optimistic. That probably wouldn't last long.

Obstacle course! As if Zack was going to take off when there was perfectly awesome exercise to be had!

... He clearly didn't have enough to do, these days.

It wasn't showing off if Zack took the tires at a run, right? None of this hopping business, just step-step-step-step, like he was born to do it?

Well, he hoped not. That was easy. Way easier than dancing around bullets, anyhow.

Re: Obstabcle Course - Wall Climbing

[personal profile] puppy_fair 2010-06-14 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Once Zack made it to the wall, he took a moment to contemplate it before shrugging, backing up and just... Taking it at a running jump.

Look, you do wall-climbing your way, and he'd do it his. This would really only be a problem if he was stuck in one of those insurmountable waist-high fence situations, anyhow. What was up with those?

At the risk of coming across as the horrible Gary-Stu he is Zack laughed when he got to the rafters, and then... Well, naturally, he took them at a run.

This course? Was awesome.

Once again, Zack saw the obstacle set out before him, rubbed the back of his head awkwardly for a moment, and then backed up and took this one at a running leap, too.

... No, really, that was what the rope was for? Oops.

Re: Obstacle Course - Finish Line!

Oh, this was more like it! Zack took a second set while he was at it, one for each shoulder, just so that he'd have a more familiar weight to run with for this last little bit.

These were nothing compared to the Buster Sword.

Oh, hey! Snacks!

This was very similar to the obstacle courses that Goose had done back at Wolf Den, with the exception that he'd had things constantly shooting at him as he completed the course. So he had no problems breezing through the tires.
