Dogma: Fuck It! | Wednesday | Period 1

Class was being held in the Danger Shop today. Loki had contemplated actually taking everyone to the mainland and letting them loose but decided he didn't want the paperwork associated with anyone getting arrested. So, the Danger Shop it was.

"Morning, muffins," Loki teased, grinning. "Today, we're going to get going on wrecking your healthy lifestyles. Now, I know most of you probably work out, eat right, get a lot of sleep and that's bullshit. That's restricting yourself from some of the best stuff in life. You only live fucking once so why not make it good? Don't turn your bodies into fucking temples to health food. Give your body what it wants! Give yourself what you want."

Loki got the simulation going and the Danger Shop became a cavernous, huge grocery store. "Today, you're going shopping. This store has everything you could possibly imagine and more. Your job today? Buy unhealthy shit. Buy a lot of it. If I see one healthy thing in your baskets, I'm gonna make you go back for something even unhealthier. The object of this activity is to you thinking with your id. You want to have an eye on things that are good, tasty, delicious, sweet, salty, things like that. You don't want something with a big fucking label telling you it's ninety five percent fat free. No. Today is about wrecking your healthy lifestyles and giving your body what it wants. So, grab a cart and go."

Raven had some experience with junk food at least, due to having a boyfriend who was fond of twinkies. But still, that wasn't all she wanted to eat. She wanted her fruits and vegetables!

Raven did her best to avoid the produce aisle, but she wasn't going to shop to excess elsewhere. She carefully placed some cookies, a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream, a bar of dark chocolate, and a box of Twinkies in her cart. That was enough, right?

Don't ask how Calvin got his cart filled so quickly and with so many sugary items. Some things it was better not to know.

Gabrielle looked far more at home in a giant grocery store than you'd think she would be coming from way back that side of the Renaissance. She cleaned out large swaths of the freezer section (so many flavors of ice cream! So many!) and the chips and cookies, but it was in the impulse-buy aisles, with the gum and the candy, that she really excelled.

Didi was pretty much neutral about healthy food vs. unhealthy food, but her nine months at T&C gave her a bit of an advantage in knowing what might be in stock. She filled her cart with stuff she hadn't tried yet -- Midnight Taco-flavored Doritos, Pretzel M&Ms, bottled coffee drinks, and sour gummies shaped like crocodiles. She doubted she'd eat more than a tenth of what she took, but the rest could go to her cabinmates if they took it out of the Shop.

Helen started off with peeps. After melting them at the campfire the other night she was quite curious as to how fresh ones would taste. It didn't take long for her to fill her cart with other things she wanted to try, various chips and candies and cookies and ice cream.

It wasn't even that Sookie herself was so deeply in love with unhealthy food or anything. But between growing up with Jason and dating Bobby, she had a pretty fair estimate of what in that spectrum she liked and didn't.

That was how her cart ended up pretty evenly split between Oreos, Twinkies and ice cream, yes.

Kurt grabbed lots and lots of popcorn -- and then decided that maybe it wasn't unhealthy enough, so he put it back and replaced it with the boxes that were labeled "movie theater butter flavor" and "extra butter".

After that, he looked for the Hostess and Little Debbie displays and went to town.

Beka was a bit sad that she couldn't pick up some of the fruit. She liked fruit and there was so many different kinds that she'd never seen afore or that were too expensive to get in the Lower City. Mayhap she'd go buy some later, for now she went to buy cookies, chips, chocolate and ice cream.

See, Hiccup was from Berk. Berk was known for many things, including its tough and tasteless (and revoltingly healthy) food.

When faced with aisle after aisle of things that weren't dried fish or salted fish or smoked fish, he might have gone a little...overboard.

He wound up with two carts, all filled to the brim with shiny, colourful, crinkly packages: chips and chocolates and baked goods of dubious quality, some round, some torpedo shape, some pink, and some covered in coconut; and bright cans and large bottles of fizzy drink.

Even though he knew none of it was real, and he wouldn't get to keep it, he was still grinning.

Zack? Cookies. Zack! Cookies! This really shouldn't be a surprise, right?

And Mountain Dew. Dangerous amounts of Mountain Dew.

... And were those cream puffs, over in the bakery section?!

TRUFAX: My supermarket actually has giant wheels of cheese. Fuck only knows why. But right next to the meat counter is a set of shelves with all sorts of exotic cheeses (http://www.gianteagle.com/cheese). And across the aisle is the counter with the antipasti and the GOURMET exotic cheeses. I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually buying any of them.

And the Kraft and Cracker Barrel that I buy are all the way on the other side of the store.
