Michael raises an eyebrow. "Prophecy? I suppose it is when something is foretold to happen. Often the so-called prophecies are veiled in mysterious phrases that can be interpreted many different ways, making them nearly impossible to truly understand."

so how then is it, that almost every culture, world and galaxy, has prophecy that is universally understood and accepted?

"I don't know, Sir. I do know that some of the most horrible wars have been fought over them."

and yet usually, the prophecy is about peace, is it not?

What can we learn from that?

"That people will fight over anything," Michael says wearily. "Even peace."

madness, or intelligence?

"I think the ones in charge feel that it is intelligence, while the ones dying think it's madness."

so how do we work through that?

"There are those who would kill all who don't believe as they do. I suppose that would be one solution." Michael shrugs as if the topic doesn't bother him, though clearly it does.

'Kill them first,' Michael thinks, 'before they can hurt us and ours,' but he doesn't say it out loud. Instead he shrugs again, "Hide all the prophecies?" he asks a bit flippantly.

"No," Michael says quietly. "I apologize." He looks very solemn. "I don't know how to stop the fighting or the killing - over anything."

what would you *like* to do?

"Find a way to escape. Find a way to make them let us be," Michael says with quiet passion.

"I'll do my best, Sir." Michael trieds to look unaffected by the conversation, but as always it seems with Professor Gandalf, he's a bit shaken by how much of himself he has been led to reveal.
