Alanna stiffened a groan. "Those are fun. And never in any way vague."

Alanna thinks for a moment. "I don't believe in prophecies. In the end, it's up to the individuals, not something someoen said many many centuries ago."

but what, just on the outside chance... if that person was *right* What if thye had tapped into some source greater then themselves, and *knew*

"But what about free will? Wouldn't person A still have the choice to go down a different path? One not seen by the person who made the prophecy?"

if I were to put a piece of chocolate fudge down in front of you, I would be fairly sure you would eat it.

Does that mean that I made you eat it? Or did you still have free will in the scenario?

"You wouldn't make me eat it, you would give me the choice to eat it. Maybe I'm allergic to chocolate, or hate fudge, and so I won't eat it. Or maybe I'll give it to a friend. Or feed it someone's pet."

Alanna stares at the chocolate, remembering the wording of the question. "Yes, I would still have free will. I don't have to eat the chocolate, you haven't gotten in to my head and forced me to eat the chocolate."

Alanna stays at her desk, her mind lost in thought. Mostly, it's circling around a wet night spent underneath a tree. And the mysterious woman, and the gem she now wears around her neck. Unconciously, she begins to play with the cord around her neck, trying to put the pieces together in her mind.
