Maritime Safety, [Monday, Period Three]

Bond had told his class to meet him down at Serenity Cove this morning and to wear their bathers. Once they arrived, he greeted them while once more wearing those tiny blue swim trunks, as well as a snorkel mask and set of flippers.

"Good morning, class," he greeted the class, completely ignoring the fact he most likely made a slightly absurd figure. "As you familiar with my equipment can probably guess, today we're going to be doing a spot of snorkelling. For those of you unfamiliar with the snorkelling, it's the practice of swimming either on or through a body of water with a diving mask, and a snorkel, which is this breathing tube here, and usually a set of swim fins as well."

Bond continued on for several minutes, explaining some of the basics of snorkelling, as well as some important safety tips. Once he was sure they'd gotten the point he gestured to the provided equipment. "We'll spend the rest of the class having a snorkel around the cove, see if we can spot any interesting sea-life." He glanced at the dragon if he was there. "Though they may be slightly less of it than usual. Make sure to always keep at least one class mate in sight at all times though, I'd like to finish class with the same number of students I started with, and I'm sure you would too."

"Also, while we're still not quite in summer proper, there is a definite chance of sunburn, so please put on some sunscreen before going into the water."

[ooc: wait for ocd up!]

What passed for swimwear in the Viking world looked a lot like what passed for every other bit of wear. He'd ditched the tunic, but his leggings were long enough to cover his left leg. Which was good, because you didn't take a wood and metal prosthetic in the water and there were...a lot of scars.

With Toothless by his side he slathered on the sunscreen (important, given he was so white he practically glowed), geared up, with difficulty--much to the amusement of the dragon--and removed his leg, tying the bottom of his leggings to cover the scars. "Okay, buddy, let's go." One hand on Toothless' shoulder, he made his hoppy way down to the water and waded in.

His suggestion that the dragon might want to stay on land was met with a disgusted look, and soon he was swimming in just deep enough water, seeing absolutely no sea life of any kind, what with Toothless staying right beside him. His one flipper had a tendency to send him in circles, but Toothless just nudged him straight again.

Hiccup didn't care; he was just enjoying being in water that didn't turn you into a Vikingsicle.

Kyle took his time. He kept his t-shirt on as he waded in the shallow water, snorkel in hand. He'd go out soon. For now he was content to wade and watch his classmates closely.

Robin already had flippers, thanks. But he donned the mask and snorkel, and hopped right in. Whee!
