Today's experiment is building BattleBots. We can use the lab's facilities, and we have almost all the supplies you could ever need. If you can't find something, ask. I'll be in the corner messing with my faulty purge valve. Oops.

"A few reasons, actually. One, there are students on this campus who have a stronger background in the sciences than the average high school student. Therefore, they didn't enroll in the science courses offered here, as they had already completed more advanced training. This club gives them the opportunity to give some of their skills fresh. Plus, there isn't the stress of experimenting in a classroom setting. If your project fails, you don't have to worry about your grades.

And some of us really enjoy this type of study in general. There are a lot of clubs on this campus, but not many are geared toward the academic. Science Club gives students with those type of interests an opportunity."

"Great. And what types of activies will the Science Club be doing?"

"We do at least a weekly open experiment - we've down everything from blowing up stuff in microwaves to lab glassblowing. We're also going to have a Science Fair, but not until Second Semester. I'd also like to have a guest speaker come in and take a field trip at some point."

Veronica makes some notes and looks back up.

"If someone was considering joining your club, what would you say to them?"

"I'd tell them that Science Club is open to all students of all abilities, first. It's all about having fun and learning, and is very low-stress. Second, it is a worthwhile club to be a part of for anyone who may be applying to college, a military academy, etc. as it looks great on a resume. Third, this isn't your typical Science Club. Our projects are certainly more entertaining and challenging than buidling a volcano out of paper mache. And yeah, we blow stuff up on campus and get away with it. How can you pass that up?"

"I appreciate the offer, but I think I'll have to pass, I'll just grab a seat in the corner and observe. Thank you so much for your time though."
