Cafeteria: Monday Lunchtime
Dandelion was a girl on a mission. What little information she had retained from the weekend was now devoted to her protecting the cafeteria from the Viking horde which would inevitably attempt to redcorate it.
Heartless Vikings.
Which is why anyone showing up for lunch today would find her guarding the entrace to the cafeteria wielding a large metal soup ladle and a colander on her head.
And no one.. NO ONE was going to make her stray from her sworn duty.
[QUESTION: How long has it been since there was a cafeteria post? ANSWER: Too long! Open post is open.]

"Maybe, um, meatloaf? Until a viking comes? Haven't seen those around so maybemaybemaybe they are having lunch as well?" It was a plausible idea.

Dandelion turned to look into the cafeteria. Thus far there were no horned helmets, bearded folk or someone wielding a giant hammer and making it thunder and rain while riding in a cart pulled by goats.
However if there was one thing Dandelion knew is that Vikings were CUNNING.
"Good," she said keeping one eye on the tables and another on the hallway. "You keep an eye out for Viking hordes inside and I'll look for them out here. You can tell a viking by their atrocious table manners and dumb helmets."

And the plan was flawless, so Delirium was already heading into the cafeteria to order a little of everything and pie, when she realized the other girl was going to stay outside.
"Do you, um, want something to eat? Food. Sort of, inside. Yes?" Although Del knew of Dandelion's sacrifice by keeping an eye for vikings, the girl might want to eat properly.

...
"Got any Mentos? They're a freshmaker."

...
"I'll, um, buy some!" That was the last thing she could do, of course!
"...Do you have any, um, money? Cash. Coins. Bills...paperclips?"

There was a quick excavation of her pokets revealing no money but plenty of buttons. "I wondered where all those had ended up."

So she needed to drive the cafeteria person a little on the crazy side of the road so they could get free meals now. Well, as long as the food was good...
"I'll be, um, right back!"

Except for when she spaced out and began thinking of days of yore when Robot Phil had merely been PC Phil and lacking a personality, arms and the ability to play the electric bass.
*sigh*
Except for that? VIGILANT!

Laaaaaaaathe.
That vigilant thing really wasn't working out.
[Okay by me!]

Getting back at the entrance, Del handled a plate full of food to Dandelion, and then the Mentos, because hey, she remembered!
"Any, um, vikings?"

"It wasn't, um, my fault. Really. I think? Only the cafeteria lady went crazy,

"Did she start talking to the sloppy joes?" she asked. "I swear I heard that in a song sometime..."

She nodded once, trying to swallow a chuck of food. "Said something about getting them dressed and, um, taking them to a trip around Saturn." Which in her opinion was a rather nice thing to do with the sandwiches.

Also a rocketship sounded much more cool than instant travel.
