The Lawn | Noon Onward!

With graduation festivities occurring over the weekend, the school administration expected most of the graduation guests to begin arriving today. To ensure guests felt welcomed, Barney's student council minions had set up a small gathering on the lawn where the guests could arrive, mingle, and feign relaxation before heading off with their graduates.

Or where they could all hear about how George got the makeouts with his girl the night before. Someone was a little chatty while hefting the tables and chairs that would serve guests well for getting a load off after travel, and Barney thought it was a tale worth sharing. For the hungry and forgetful, there were finger foods and nametags spread out on a long table. It was time to get the all-weekend grad party started!

[Up early because I have no control over the internets once I go to work!]

"Did I tell you I missed you yet?" Hannibal asked, smirking. "No? Good because I didn't. But you can stay as long as you don't make a scene during the ceremony."

Which he knew they would. Just to spite him.

"Would we ever do that?" his dad asked, trying to look stern and failing.

"At least, we'll wait till its your turn before we stand on our chairs and clap like morons," his mother added.

"Gee, thanks," Hannibal said enthusiastically. "You guys are the greatest. I forgot why I wanted to be emancipated in the first place."

Okay, that just wasn't true at all. But, if they were going to tease, so was he.

His father slid an arm around his shoulders and his mother grabbed the other arm. And they probably did it on purpose. Just so people would look. They were sneaky and mean like that.

"Show us around?" his mother requested easily. "You've talked so much about this place that seeing it will probably be a letdown but show us anyway."

Since it didn't look like he was going to get out of the embrace of his parents, Hannibal just shook his head and started walking. See, totally a good son.
