Teaching. This was apparently something Kyle was going to have to get used to when he went back to Luke's Academy, but still. He wasn't sure it came naturally. Because of that, Kyle figured he might as well just dive into it.

Not literally. He put a box down and opened it up before speaking.

"Sometimes you're going to need to go undercover. This means that you're taking on a new persona and disguise to blend in with criminals. Depending on your assignment, you might be using your cover to hunt for evidence, record conversations, or otherwise put yourself into position to capture criminals while appearing to work with them," Kyle said. "Normally when you do this you'll have some help. Your real colleagues will set you up with identification, some mission objectives, and they'll set up stings based on information you pass along. From there, you have to convince your fake colleagues that you're one of them without crossing any lines and becoming a real criminal yourself."

"It's tough work. Not everyone is suited to it. Your life is constantly in dange, so even if you survive with your morals intact, your nerves might have frayed severely."

"Today we're going to focus on the lighter side, though. There's a big box here with a bunch of ~~moddable~~ costume pieces - hats, glasses, fake facial hair, that kind of stuff," Kyle said. And there was a lot of fake facial hair. Somebody might think that kids around here need to think about the kind of impact a good beard could have on their lives. "You'll need to put together a disguise, come up with a name and background, and try to convince the panel that you won't be killed inside of en minutes. May the Force be with you on that point."

Kyle didn't go on for too long, but you may want to jot down a couple notes. Or just talk to each other or whatever.

Get your costume and identity ready. Steal wigs from each other. Steal names from each other. Just steal something! It's for your cover.

Tony tried on a tri-corner hat and considered a couple of pairs of glasses.

Dinah was putting a bandage across her nose on the theory that it would definitely change her looks, and tilted her head to look at Tony. "Okay, are you starting a revolution somewhere?"

"I'm Canadian. We don't revolt; we just wait two hundred years and then ask nicely," Tony said. "You going for the post-nose job look? Very Hollywood."

"I was going for post-fight, but post-nose-job is so not-me that it's probably a good cover too," Dinah decided, trying to put on a dark wig. "I probably need eyebrow liner to make this look even vaguely convincing... And are you asking nicely for the way to the tea party?"

"Sometimes a hat is just a hat," Tony said. He put down the glasses and picked up a false mustache. "What do you think?" he asked, holding it up to his upper lip.

Ben had changed his look a dozen times when trying to escape Coruscant and avoid being spotted on camera, so if he looked completely at home with the assignment, it was because he was.

He picked up a brown wig and gazed speculatively at the beards. Dressing up as Kyle Katarn would be a bad idea, but there were plenty of bearded badasses back home...

Students, step up, show off your new look, and tell the judges who you are.

Teachers, break down their identities American Idol style. Let them know what worked and what didn't.

Ben had worked with what he had available and was wearing a sleeveless black shirt (liberally sliced up in the back to show off his scars), black pants and his own boots, and a non-descript brown wig. He'd slung a belt low across his hips (ala Uncle Han), where a blaster would hang if he wasn't in a classroom.

His entire posture had changed, as had his way of walking as he strode toward the teachers. "I'm Kalen Windtide," he said in a very passable ~~American~~ Outer Rim accent as he met their eyes steadily. "I'm from Mos Espa," a place he knew enough about to be able to fake if someone else knew the area, "but I've been working mostly with the Scourge out in the Elrood Sector." He shrugged nonchalantly. "But the credits are drying up now that no one's kriffing going to the Elrood Sector. Thought I'd try my luck with a new gang."

"Showing off the scars isn't the best idea," Kyle said. "Scars, tattoos, anything permanent like that, you don't want to call attention to if you can avoid it. You don't want something very identifiable coming back to haunt you."

"That said, if you could add some fake or temporary scars somewhere else, that might be a good distraction. Overall, good job."

They're clearly ready to give fashion advice.

Coffee and cookies today, along with the speculative look of someone considering that red wig there.
