"Morning everyone," Paige said. "Hard to believe we're coming up on the end of the term so fast. We've gotten a little off course with our syllabus, but that's okay. Today we're going talk about magical mishaps."

Paige knew all too well about magical mishaps.

"So, what happens when magic goes awry? Obviously that depends on what kind of magic the user is trying to do and the way their magic works. I can't give you a guide of what not to do because we have people here from so many different worlds and no two kinds of magic are exactly the same. But there are clues you can look for. If someone has a sudden change in appearance? That might indicate something magical going wrong."

Like suddenly having ridiculously big breasts.

"It's not always visual though. You should just pay attention and realize that any sudden and unexplained change could be the sign that something is magically wrong. Maybe your friend from California is suddenly speaking with a southern drawl. Could be a sign they're possessed by the ghost of a criminal who wants nothing more than to marry her ghost husband."

"Okay, so let's talk about some of the things you've seen in Fandom or at home. What clues did or could you have picked up on to let you know there was something magical going on?"

Clark knew a few things about mishaps, though he wasn't sure if they counted as magical or not. Good thing that red ring got destroyed after the summer.

Gwynn was taking notes as Paige talked and pondered all of the magical things she had seen here.

"Okay, so let's talk about some of the things you've seen in Fandom or at home. What clues did or could you have picked up on to let you know there was something magical going on?"

"When many of the boys turned into girls and the girls into boys," Raven said.

"Oh man, that is always so weird," Hurley said. "I swear, there's an evil angry wizard somewhere hiding on this island that just likes messing with us."

"The radio said that Chuck is a girl now," Raven said. "But usually that happens to many people at once, not just one person, does it not?"

Harper shuddered. "Yeah, I don't want to re-live that ever again," she said.

Really, it wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't taken the opportunity to chase after her favorite boy who didn't like girls.

"Nor do I," Raven agreed. "It was very disconcerting to wake up with...." She fluttered her hands.

"I think my crush was even more shocked when he woke up and that I changed back overnight," said Harper.

Raven blinked. "You...while you were...."

Harper nodded. There just weren't any words to express how awful that decision was in hindsight.

"Why?" Raven had to know. "To...experiment?"

"Not exactly," said Harper. "He only liked boys and said he'd never go out with me since I was a girl. So when I woke up to find that I was a boy, I decided to see if he liked me better that way. And he liked it until I changed back."
