Magic for Dummies | Period 1 | Class Eleven

The fog and last night's radio had Paige well and truly creeped out.

When her class arrived, she said, "Okay, so last week we were supposed to talk about keeping magic on the down low but we watched a movie. I was going to move that to today, but I think we'd be better off spending our time talking about current events."

She sat on the desk in front of the room. "This fog is definitely unusual and creepy. And based on last night's radio broadcast, it sounds like there is something more going on around here. So let's talk about any experiences we've had so far, either here or back home, that might somehow relate to the fog."

There was a pause before she continued. "Additionally, if any of you find yourselves needing transportation somewhere on the island, feel free to call my cell phone any time and I'd be happy to teleport you."

Like you're creeped out

Talk about your experiences with creepy fog or creatures that aren't there or anything that might be semi-relevant to what's going on.

She meant it about calling her for transportation.

Need to start posting class the night before. Someone remind me next Tuesday!

Harper looked genuinely freaked out. She may start spazzing at any moment, but she was there.

"How exactly do you fight fog? Shine a really big spotlight on it?" asked Harper.

"I am also able to teleport others," Raven offered. "And I encountered one of the creatures at work yesterday. It did not know how to open doors at least, so it seemed to be safe inside."

She didn't want to go into what had happened with Kennedy because she still wasn't sure about that.

Bruce Wayne

"...there are creatures out there?" Hurley said.

Bruce held up a droid baby who kept making a clicking sound as its neck tried to turn to the right.

"I thought this was a monster." It continued to click. "It wasn't one."

"It depends on what's causing it," Paige said. "My sisters and I have fought shadows before."

"Oops," Paige said. "So maybe there aren't really creatures out there? People just think there are?"

Harper pondered this for a moment. "So first, we have to figure out what's causing the weird fog before we can fight it," she said.

"I don't have enough information to really speculate," Bruce said, relying on his detective training to keep his mind open to the possibilities. "I just know that this wasn't one. And that I'm getting a bad grade on my Ethics assignment."

Paige nodded. "Yeah. You can't fight something if you don't know what you're fighting."

"Maybe your Ethics teacher will understand," Paige said hopefully. "It's interesting that you saw a harmless object as a dangerous creature though. That's good information that you should probably share with some of the people who are researching."

That made sense to Harper. "Do you think it's safe to go out there long enough to get to the library?"

"I don't know. But if you want to go sometime, just call me," Paige said. "I'd be happy to orb you over."

"Yes," Raven said, looking over at Hurley. "I saw a large lizardlike creature, and something demonic with multiple heads and four legs and many arms."

"...I really hope they're gone by Friday," Hurley said. "Otherwise no way I'm going to go sell flowers in that crap."

"I will bring you to work safely if you like," Raven said. "But yes, I fear there were not be many customers in the fog. There were no customers Tuesday for me."

"Maybe I'll just call my boss on Friday and see what she wants," Hurley said. "And then just, like... yeah. Not too anything too crazy."
