Alysha had spent much of the night baking as she tried to figure out why, exactly, there was an odd sense of foreboding upon her. It didn't seem to be connected to that tug in her heart that always led back to home, and a few phone calls to Charlie and her dad assured her that everything was fine there. So she baked and tried to see things a little more clearly. When that didn't work, she baked and charmed her muffins and cakes and pasties to bring health and keen sight and good luck to those who ate them.

If anyone had known that, they probably wouldn't be surprised to see the array of baked goods along one of the walls of the classroom.

She sat on the teacher's desk as she waited for all the students to come in. "Anyone else feeling a little off tonight or today?" Alysha asked once everyone had their seats. "Anyone wanna talk about it?"

After any discussion was finished, she nodded to the baked goods. "Help yourself to whatever ~~moddable kind of~~ baked goods you like and take the rest back to the dorms if you want. I promise everything tastes good, and nothing's poisoned. Other than that, stay watchful and consider yourself dismissed until next week."

[OOC: The charms on the baked goods you can feel free to mod as anything from erasing tired to additional alertness to the remnants of a cold disappearing to tripping right when someone is trying to punch you in the face to having extra good sight for a few hours to just a general sense of well-being. Karla grabbed a few cookies. Probing food with Craft was second-nature by now, which was why she'd already bitten into one by the time she realized that they were infused with an odd kind of magic.

She gave Alysha a long look before chewing and swallowing her bite. Her teacher had promised they weren't harmful. Karla was going to believe her.

It was funny: Last week, Tara had told Kennedy that magic was like baking, and some people were just better at it.

Now, nomming on a cookie, she decided her Magical Ethics teacher seemed to be really good at both.

The charm around Beka's neck didn't warm against her skin when she picked a muffin and so it'd not even occur to her that they'd been magicked. And the food helped her forget the strange feeling she'd had on her morning run.

Sookie took a couple of cookies. She was worried enough that she barely tasted them, but it felt good to eat something sweet.

Leda wasn't very hungry. She rarely was these days. But today she was more interested in pretending she wasn't here. And wondering why she just hadn't played hookie.

Anyone feel anything weird going on? Or have something else random to contribute?

"I had...some weird dreams last night," Karla confessed. "True dreams. I couldn't make sense of them at all, but...they concern me. I'm filled with a sense of foreboding."

"I cannot determine what it is," Raven said quietly, "but something is causing me discomfort. I find I am very tense."

"Wh-what everyone else said," Tara threw in. "I -- I tried a spell that's supposed to reveal magic? But it's nothing like that. It's just weird."

"There is just this odd... feeling about the world todya," Helen said slowly. "I don't really understand it."

"Everyone is uneasy," Sookie said, looking tired. "I can't keep everyone out. Everyone is just...tense, and scared, and my barriers can't stay up all the time. I can feel it too, but everyone else's worries are clouding my head too much to figure out what it is."

"I just got back from running errands for my family and have sand in places where sand should never go." Diana paused. "Like under nails, in hair, and somehow behind my teeth. Anyway, everything feels off right now, ask me again after I soaked for a third time."

"I haven't had any visions lately," Sam offered, sounding disappointed when compared to how everyone else was feeling. "But that's not always a sign that things are okay."

When they ping in.

Edmund was a touch concerned that Professor Gale felt the need to specify that the food wasn't poisoned, but he supposed that was important to point out when so many things weren't as they seemed. He helped himself to a few muffins and listened to the conversation. He hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary, but it was worth noting what the magic-sensitive people had to say about the matter.
