Study Hall --- Thursday, October 20th

Sarah sits at the front desk, leaning back in her chair with her feet up and looking like she's asleep. There's a few gigantic boxes of donuts, hot coffee and tea for anybody else who arrives in study hall as early as she has, and while it may look as if she's perfectly harmless like this, there is a pile of rubber bands very near her hand. The threat that she'll shoot them at anyone who bugs her is obvious.

(OOC: Forgive the mun, but she's just started a new night job and will be sleeping through a lot of the day, so it's either a few days a week of study hall bright and early or study hall late and dark.)

"Actually, yeah. I was going to ask you anyway, but we're going to need a certain level of...damage control. Parents are going to react to things on campus, and we need to keep them calm - and from sending us all home, y'know? So I'm not sure how to fix that. And the Dean wants me to set up some peer mediators so that if families have problems over the weekend, we can help out. Because apparently, some families are a little..."

Rory trails off, twirling a finger next to her temple to indicate insanity.

[ooc: Gah, you're wonderful. The biggest OOC hassle at the moment is going to be making sure everyone actually puts their family members down on my handy-handy master list. Because I don't want someone whining at me next Saturday about how their great-aunt Gertrude should be able to come in even though they forgot to put her down. But I'm sure other things are going to crop up.]

Marty gives her a sad smile.

"Considering my Dad was a drunk and my Mom is one missed pill away from being in the loony bin? I think I can relate. I'd be happy to be a peer mediator and/or run interference with the family members. Don't ask me to explain Rover though. I still can't explain him... it... to myself yet."

"No one can explain Rover," Rory says, rolling her eyes. "I'm telling my grandma that he's athletic equipment. And that would be great, if you're okay with it," she adds, smiling. "I'm going to put out some flyers tonight advertising that I'm going to be setting up an actual team of mediators for the duration of the school year - which'll be partially your domain as Security anyway."

"Consider my name already signed up to volunteer. I assume that with mediation that if any issues come up that are outside of the scope of the group I'll be the one taking them to administration?"

[OOC: If Spider ever has Office hours today I'll ask. The security position apparently does nothing so... I'll gladly help anywhere I can.
