It was the first class back after Spring Break and Loki looked relaxed and tanned while eating a Pop Tart at the front of the room. He waited till everyone had filed in and settled down before getting up and starting in on the class.

"Welcome back," he greeted, giving them all a nod. "I hope everyone had fun down in the Bahamas. If you didn't go, well, why the fuck not? I hope you had fun wherever you went that wasn't the fucking Bahamas. Today, we get right back into the class by learning about obnoxious fucking people."

Oh, the obnoxious. The many, the proud, the plentiful. "And don't even make faces, you know they exist. You might even be one of them. They are everywhere. They're your roommate, your brother, your boyfriend, the person behind in line at the bank, or the person walking behind you on the street. Their obnoxiousness can range from mild to so fucking irritating you want to choke them out just for a peace of mind."

Not that Loki had ever wanted to do that or anything. Ahem.

"The way you deal with obnoxious people really fucking depends on how they're being obnoxious and to what degree they're taking their behavior. If it's a mild thing, you can probably just walk away or tell them to cut the shit out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If it's incessant and doesn't stop, you might have to take further action. You could tell--" Loki glared at the class at this. "--and be known as a fucking tattletale or you could use your fucking brains and figure out a way to take care of it yourselves. You're all nearly adults, creative and experienced. It shouldn't be that hard a thing."

He hoped.

"For today's activity, I want you all to be fucking obnoxious," Loki said, smirking. "Figure out a way that will make you the most obnoxious shit in the entire fucking class and then I want you all to talk to each other in the guise of that obnoxious person you've created. See how long you can keep up the charade, see how fucking annoyed you get with yourself and the other person and see who breaks first. It's fun for one and all!"

But, mostly fun for Loki.

Joan seldom took notes in Loki's class, but she did enjoy listening to his lectures, such as they were.

Take on an obnoxious trait and be that obnoxious version of yourself! Talk to each other like it's a dinner party, see who's more annoying and who can last the longest!

"Oh look, you're annoying me already." Claudia wasn't trying very hard, either. She'd been told by any number of foster parents that her sarcasm was obnoxious enough as it was.

Jake grinned at her. "Some people just have talent," he said, doing his bad to sound haughty. He wasn't too shabby at it. "You're not going to last five minutes here, baby."

"Mmmm, some of us don't need funny voices to be irritating. And, hey, this might be the weirdest argument I've ever had."

"Really? This is the weirdest argument you've ever had?" Jacob asked. "Are you sure?"

And Elena had been the biggest spoiled brat in the universe just a few years prior. Channeling that was not exactly difficult.

Elena stamped her foot and was working on a sulk. "Are you just going to stand there?"

She really ought to have pigtails for this.

Jonothon's eyebrow twitched upward at that, and while she was working on sulking, he was working on flat-out indignance.

He did 'indignant' well.

"That's not where you're supposed to be at all!" She was pointing at him now and working up a good pout. "You didn't even apologize for being late. I bet my sister told you to come here. She doesn't know anything and I hate her."

The rolling of his eyes deserved special note, really. Nobody could eyeroll quite like Jono could.

Makita would flip you off if you called her obnoxious, but probably wouldn't punch you unless you being a real pain. You weren't worth the effort.

Jono tended to get called 'noxious' more often than 'obnoxious.' Which didn't mean that he wasn't that, too.

... He'd still punch you.
