Horror 101, Monday

The first thing their classmates would n(most likely) notice was that Mitchell was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Chloe and Alex were in the front of the room, ready to use their TA powers for evil good.

"Mitchell couldn't make it today. He's dealing with some family obligations back home but he should be back with us next Monday," Alex stated. "So, it's up to us," she smiled and glanced at Chloe, "to keep things going until Mitchell returns."

"Since we were just on a nice Spring Break that seemed too short for some, we figured we'd be nice and make it a movie day," Chloe explained.

"However, in keeping with the theme of the class, we had to make it topical. Therefore, you guys get to see Enemy Mine 2 : Electric Boogaloo. That is what THIS site called it."

"Feel free to just sit back and enjoy," Alex added, and promptly started the movie.

There were things on Alex's mind so he was pretty damn grateful for a movie day. It meant he could zone out for awhile and let his mind wander over a vast variety of topics.

Tomorrow, he'd be eighteen. Despite doing shit that he wasn't allowed to be doing for years now, it was still fun to think of what all he could do now.

<<Why are we here if there's no class?>> asked a sleepy mental whine from the direction of a pillow pile. <<We could have spent another day on the beach, drinking those green-things.>>

<< Because life is shit sometimes, >> Alex answered eloquently. << Surprised you didn't just say fuck it and set up shop down there. Not like anyone here could really stop you. >>

<<Because I actually like this class?>> she pointed out. <<Well, usually. Mitchell's absolutely fascinating when he gets going on a topic.>>

<<And if I didn't come back, my guardian would probably pitch a fit, come find me, and drag me back to school regardless.>>

<< Emma, you sound so responsible, >> Alex said dryly, sounding amused. << I thought you were a bad girl. I've been so mistaken. >>

<<But you like good girls. Like Ellie.>> Emma also sounded amused, and she cracked her eyes open just slightly to grin at him. <<Or do you like it when good girls go bad? Both, maybe.>>

<< Depends on the situation, >> Alex sent, smirking. << Any girls gotta know what they're doing to catch my attention. No confidence, no way in hell I'm going to take a second look. >>

They'd come back to school for this? Emma was more than a little disgruntled, actually, and was wishing that they'd stayed in the Bahamas an extra day instead.

There would be no movie-watching, thanks. Instead, she made herself a nest of pillows on one of the couches and settled in for a nap.

This wasn't the Bahamas, but Harper was happy to lounge around and watch a cheesy horror movie.

Jack might have enjoyed how absolutely bad this movie was if he hadn't been fretting about where the teacher was. George was getting a call the second he was out of class.

There was one person in the class, at least, who knew how Jack was fretting. <<Come by my room after class?>> Emma asked silently, giving him a telepathic nudge. <<After you call George, of course.>>

Jack gave her a sidelong glance that was the equivalent of a blush at being so easily read, then nodded. <<Of course.>>

There would be time to talk later, when they weren't watching this scintillating bit of entertainment.

Tony glanced over at Jack with a questioning look, wondering if he knew where the teacher was.

Jack shook his head and shrugged at him when he caught the look. He wasn't sure what the question was -- though he could guess -- but a shrug was usually a safe answer.

The really creepy thing about this movie? Leda could see this actually happening in Fandom. Or Bordertown for that matter.
