people suck except when they don't | thursday | period 2 | february 18

It hadn't escaped Loki that today was supposed to be a fucking midterm but he never liked to really cooperate with anything so why would he fall into that line now? Fuck it, they were going to keep chugging along. Besides, today was a juicy topic. Loki fucking loved when shit started getting real.

"We're not having a midterm today," Loki stated once everyone filed in and took their seat. "Fuck that, who wants to have a week full of tests before we all get to go to the Bahamas. Not fucking me. I don't wanna grade the shit. So, today, we get to discuss how our fucking friends suck."

Oh yes, time to get down to some nitty fucking gritty. "Now, if you're sitting there thinking 'but my friend's love me and they'd never do anything bad to me', then you can just hit the door right now because that's bullshit. Your friend might be a fucking saint but that's not going to save you from them sucking. Of course, since they are your friend, it is going to make it a shittier, harder situation when they do screw you because you're going to want to forgive them and let it roll off your fucking back. But, that's really hard to do when your friend fucking screws you out of your job or steals a significant other or whatever else they might do."

Fucking Bartleby. Loki loved that guy but what a massive fuck.

"And, unfortunately, your friends are going to know how to fuck you up all the easier because they are closer to you. They're going to know what to go for, what buttons to fucking push and how to manipulate you just so. When you call them on it, they might espouse some bullshit about not meaning it or it just being taken wrong. It's up to you to decide if they're lying out their ass or being truthful. Be warned though, if you have a friend that thinks they can get away with using and abusing you, they won't fucking stop. They will use you as a doormat until you fucking say enough is enough. And that's hard to do because you don't want to hurt someone's feeling. To that, I say, man the fuck up. Don't fucking take it."

Loki knew that was easier said than done but he was saying it anyway. "For today, I'm not going to make you stand up and tell everyone how your friends have fucked you over. I'm not that much of a cruel bastard."

Anymore.

"What we are going to is write haiku." That's right. Loki was throwing a curveball. "Of course, these specifically have to relate to how you've been fucked over by a friend. The beauty of a haiku is that it's so fucking shot, that you can be vague as shit. But, I wanna see one from every one of you. Get some of your anger out in haiku form. Feel free to work together, talk to each other, whatever. And if you're going to the Bahamas next week, I'll see you there."

Chuck... not exactly a poet at heart was going to take a little time over this one. Morgan wasn't an idiot on purpose, so it didn't seem fair to base it on him, but it was all he was coming up with.

Fiona sighed. Friends didn't seem to cause nearly so much trouble. Maybe because she got to pick them.

...you know, other than that one. She wasn't thinking about that.

Kurt leaned back in his chair and sighed. He was all for not doing a midterm, but HAIKUS? Ah, well.

Joan really didn't think any of her friends were that terrible.

Calvin started scribbling in his exercise book.

girl in the treehouse
ladder up laughter ringing out
die fuzzy traitor

Never mind that Calvin had started letting Susie up in his treehouse years ago, it was the principle of the thing.

Until she'd come here, Karla hadn't had that many friends.

So, she was going to write about Hobart and Loki never needed to know the difference.

You sent them to me.
How can power mean that much?
Stop breaking children!

and

I miss them always.
His strong hands and her sweet voice.
You stole them from me.

Yeah, she'd be working on these all class.

Jono just glared at his paper for a while before shaking his head and writing something down.

standing in the rain
'does he even have feelings?'
not around you, no

And then he was possibly stabbing his paper with his pen a few times for good measure. Shut up.

Kurt shrugged and wrote:

you know what you did
i hate it when you do that
and now i am sad

It was TOTALLY about something specific he had in mind. Yup.

never taking a day off
needs to get a life

cocky S-O-B
puts his ballsack on my face
how is he not fired

mentor at the start
dropped me when his friend came back
that still bothers me

Tseng, Reno and Rude. She felt disloyal just writing that.

Makita actually didn't have many issues with her friends. Mostly because she didn't have many friends, but that was beside the point.

Well, before Jono had come to Fandom, he had a very loose sort of definition of the term 'friends.'

People who were more or less on the same side as him counted, right?
