Magic for Dummies | Class 6 | Period 1
Paige had handwavily notified the students to meet in the Danger Shop today and to wear old clothes. When they arrived, they would find the shop looking much like a chemistry lab. There was also a guest speaker in front of the room with Paige.
"Morning, everyone. We're meeting here today so that none of you accidentally blow yourselves or the school up," Paige greeted them. "This is Piper Halliwell, my half sister. Well, technically she's my half sister from another universe and a Fandom High grad. Anyway, she's the best potion maker I know, so I asked her to join us today."
"Hey everyone," Piper greeted, waving to the class. She found it so weird that she did not recognize anyone. "So I guess I'll be telling you a little about potions and then I can show you how to make some. I promise not to actually blow anything up. There will be no love potions either."
Paige gave each student a handout listing a number of potions they could make. "We have all of the ingredients here to make any of these. They will not work outside of this room. If you want to try them out, I can create a simulation for you to test it on. Before you start, Piper will talk a little about how potions work and give you some pointers."
"Anyone can make a potion. In fact, most ingredients can be found in a typical kitchen cupboard. Many of them just go by different names," Piper explained to the class. "The potions must be infused with magic for them to work, at least in my world. This means someone, usually a witch, must have the power of spell casting."
She walked over to one of the tables where a mortar and pestle was set up, as well as empty vials and various spices. "We usually take all the ingredients needed for a particular spell and mix them in a bowl like this one with some water and then fill the vials. My sisters and I carry these around with us when we need to. We use the potions for a variety of reasons such as protecting innocents, summoning another witch, and sometimes to vanquish demons."
"We only vanquish the demons who are trying to hurt others though," Paige clarified, not wanting any of them to get ideas about Drake. Or any other demons who might be on the island (or in this class).
"Why don't you guys work in pairs," Paige suggested. "Make a potion or two. Let me know what you've made and I'll set up a sim for you to test it. And if you have questions about your potions, feel free to grab me or Piper."
