The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon 2/5/10

It was the day of the club fair, so of course Jean was going to be there bright and early to make everything was set up like it should be. What kind of over-achiever would she be without that?

So, the gym was neatly set up and ready for everyone to arrive and look over what new and old clubs there were this semester.

She looked up, remembering her most recent letter from the Agency. She then worked very hard not imagining going to a dance with Leto. That was probably best.

"I'm fine." She even sounded mostly fine. "And you?"

Leto, of course, was unaware of any letters from the Agency, and while he wouldn't mind going to a dance with Triela, there were others whom he perhaps would be expected to ask first.

"Fine, as usual." He smiled at her.

"You're always fine." It almost sounded like a complaint. It also almost sounded fond, but that was even less likely. Right?

"You never seem to have any problems or anything," she groused. It was very frustrating for him to be so composed when she couldn't be. At least not anymore.

Er. She meant she didn't have problems. Of course.

Triela's eyes narrowed suspiciously. She'd learned that 'of course' from Leto meant he didn't believe her. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Triela sighed. She'd hoped he would forget...

"I didn't have a specific day in mind, but I just wanted to let you know I hadn't forgotten."

That would make her sad, wouldn't it?

"I appreciate you letting me know." No she didn't. Which was probably obvious. Mostly because she suspected he brought it up specifically to needle her.

Leto nodded, then shot her a teasing smile. "Later, then." And he turned and disappeared into the crowd.

Triela stared after him, her expression a complicated mix of confusion, exasperation, and... something which the uninformed might misread as a wistful sort of interest.
