Battles That Changed History, Second Period, Friday 1/29

"Due to circumstances beyond my control," by which Steve meant 'all my materials were wrecked,' "your scheduled lecture for this week has been canceled. However, I've found an alternative way for you to learn about one of the battles we would have covered that I think you'll all enjoy." Steve gestured to the bowls of popcorn and the sodas that indicated that yes: this was movie week. "We also have refreshments. I encourage you to learn about the Battle of the Nile and the Sack of Rome on your own, but in the meantime, we're going to watch a film that starts at a fictionalized version of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. Enjoy the movie."

The violence was a little over the top, but Leia sat back and enjoyed the movie.

Illyria couldn't speak for the millions of historical inaccuracies, what with having slept through this bit of history, but she did make a game of counting up which wounds killed that shouldn't, which didn't that should.

Despite which, blood and violence. Huzzah. Just toss her some bread.

Kurt huddled in the back of the room under his cloak, and hogged an entire bowl of popcorn for himself.

Proto sat down nearby and reached out to snag a handful.

What?

His roomie was the one person Kurt DEFINITELY didn't want to get a good look at his fuzzy blue face. He pulled the cloak tighter around him, and held out the popcorn. "Still not feeling well," he told Proto.

Proto shrugged. He was just fine with giving his roommate some space. "Maybe you should have stayed in. I could have filled you in... even if it weren't a movie."

"Ja, but I didn't want to miss class," Kurt told him. "Because... I don't know. It made more sense in my head."

Mat, still not having a ton of experience with movies, decided he liked this one much better than others he'd watched.

Setting trees on fire was a bloody brilliant idea, too, and he stored that away.

Marco made a note to just start bringing popcorn to all of his classes. It would be more entertaining that way.

Mmmm, popcorn. Lion-o was content to watch the movie and eat enough popcorn that he wouldn't be able to eat lunch.
