Law and Order: Interdimensional Edition - Week Four

When the students arrived at the Danger shop today they'll find that it had been transformed into full service car wash.

"No. You're not washing cars today," Gibbs said sipping his coffee. "Today we're going to be learning how to capture a fugitive. Half of you will be the fugitives, the rest of you are the chasers. When we've done one round then we'll switch. Also? No powers. Just your own steam If you need to know how this is done then we'll give you an example."

Turning around to look at his TA's, he pointed at Beka. "Cooper. Arrest Lance for murder. Feel free to rough her up."

When that little demonstration was done Gibbs then went on to do a demonstration on how to handcuff a suspect.

Finally Gibbs read off the following list of names:

Anemone
Dinah Lance
Hoshi Sato
Jennifer Walters
Marco
Momoko Akatsutsumi
Naomi Wildman
Rose Hathaway
Tony Foster

"This group is the first group of fugitives," Gibbs called out. "If your name was not read off then you need to start chasing and arresting people. NOW!"

Roy was kind of sleepy in class today, but chasing and apprehending, no powers? He'd done this exhausted, bleeding, sick, and high as a freaking kite. It was like the class-planning gods had smiled on him. The only complicating factors would be that he didn't have his bow and he didn't have familiar backup.

He was not so much looking forward to the tables being turned, but he'd deal with that when it was time.

Gwen grinned, just a little. She mightn't have been actually been out chasing criminals, aliens, or Weevils through the streets of Cardiff recently, but some life skills never went away.

Jaina thought she might be pretty good at this, even without powers. Of course it helped that there were certain powers that she could use to reenergize herself if the chase went on too long and no one could tell, but she just hoped it didn't actually go on too long.

Momoko was not taking notes, having had this exercise in her previous class. She did however note the important change of, "no powers?!"

Whoops! She clapped her hands over her mouth and sank her head into her shoulders.

Hands still covering her mouth, Momoko gave a resigned sigh and nodded. "Izjusmur..."

Huh? Oh, yeah.

She dropped her hands and said: "It's just more boring that way, but I understand."

Yeah, Dinah wasn't sticking around to be roughed up, thanks. Ah, the joy of being a TA.

"See ya, Cooper!" Dinah saluted her and broke for the rinse cycle portion of the car wash, fast as she could.

Gibbs might have well have said "Puppy, fetch!". Mayhap she didn't know what a car wash was, but Beka didn't doubt. She was off after her Rat in an instant.

Going through the middle may have appeared faster, Beka moved to the side, hoping it'd be less slippery and trusting to be faster than Dinah to keep up.

Dinah burst out the other side, soaking wet and still running for all she was worth. There was a little office in the middle of the car wash, and she ducked around a car, heading for that, and trying not to check behind her for Beka.

Marco had a very good reflex for running for his life and he decided to just that when he found out he was playing a fugitive. The only problem was that he ran fast for someone his height.

Momoko stretched her arms above her head, waiting for her 'cop'. Luckily she'd spent a lot of time running last semester, but still it was totally unfair that she couldn't fly.

Dinah didn't need coffee, not after that chase. Whew.

"If you're armed and are trying to bring your fugitive in alive, remember, the knees are a great place to shoot them," Kyle suggested. "It's not going to kill them, but it is going to hurt a lot and make them fall over. Obviously, NEVER do that when they've already surrendered."

[identity profile] maxnotsam.livejournal.com 2010-01-29 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Also the spleen," Max added. "I'm pretty sure you can live without one. I think."

If someone's getting away faster than your short, fuzzy little legs can run, don't hesitate to start shooting wildly in their direction," Max advised. "If they're ducking, they can't run as fast."
