Flight Club (After Comparative Religions, Before JA)

Anakin stands in front of a door to a new shed located just outside of the gym. Inside is a gleamingly new flight simulator, currently programmed for a series of simulations for a Jedi Starfighter.

He turned and addressed the crowd.

"Okay. We have about twenty people signed up for the Flight Club right now, which is great. I've decided that in order to give everyone a chance for some hands-on experience, we'll have both a flight sim and a practical demonstration available every week." He gestured into the shed. "My old teacher has sent us a flight simulator. It's capable of almost unlimited variations in programming. Currently I've set it for the ship I'm most familiar with, the Jedi Starfighter, but if you can get a flight sim of the craft from your home world or dimension, we can upload it as well and learn to fly your ships." He grinned. "I'd rather us crash and burn in the sim than in the real thing. Less paperwork."

He smiled at Harry, Kiki, and Draco. "Today's practical demonstration will be with broomsticks. Draco, Harry, and Kiki have graciously agreed to show us all how to fly on these."

Anakin held up his hand. "One more thing. If you can all sign the sheet and mention your flight experience, especially if you're licensed on your world for your craft of choice, it'll go a long way towards making the insurance people who cover the school happier.

"That's it. Have fun. Don't break my sim. Or yourselves."

[OOC: Feel free to slowplay this--Anakin'll answer all flight sim requests and our three broom instructors are in three different time zones.]

Draco lies the broom on the ground.

"Go ahead. Just command it to get up and then you'll have to straddle it. You'll just hover in the air until you want it to go higher. Remember to be confident. If you're nervous it'll get a bit wacky on you."

"Oh yeah. Great."

Feeling like a complete idiot, he puts his hand out over the broom and barks "UP!" in his best "waking a drunken wookiee" voice.

Draco is impressed. He hadn't expected a muggle to get it on the first try.

"Good. Now straddle it. And excuse the dirty terminology, I can't think of a better way to say it." said Draco, covering all the bases for ridicule.

"Like this?" Han swings a leg over and hangs on with both hands.

*snickers*

"Hey, I got the thing airborne. I'd like to see you do better."

After dismounting Han just smirks. "Not what i saw when you tok my boyfriend home from the dance. Tell me, how'd you end up with a guy on each arm, after showing up with three different girls?"

Went back to the dance after dumping the guys, and got myself the hottest girl in the school.

You went home alone.. right? *snerks*
or does the rug double as a mattress?

"Yeah, alone. Chewie's got a ladyfriend in town. Wookiees aren't my taste anyway."

Han thinks over the information. "Hot girl, huh? Good for you! Maybe you'll be a little easier to live with if you're getting some attention."

I get more attention then a little sly boy like yerself could ever deal with.

Han laughs. "Who you calling little? I've seen Vera, and you know what they say about men who need big guns..."

Ya, you just aint man enough to handle a beast like Vera... thats all there is to it. Betcha a real man scares ya just as much *smirks*

"I've handled bigger beasts than her. Raw destructive power is fine, if that's all you're aiming for. I like a little more finesse. And the man ain't been born or hatched yet that scares me. In or out of bed."

"And you'd know all about that, too, wouldn't you?" Han smirks right back. "If I didn't know better, I'd think that last sounded like a request. But surely, since you're getting all the heat you could want from some pretty girl, you wouldn't be interested in what Chiana and Krycek were having. Or in what you got thrown over for?"

Han is careful to stay well out of arms' reach for this. he heard the threat earlier, but running verbal circles around the big guy was too much fun to resist.

And a whore moving on to another paying client aint throwing me over, thats just called good business.

"You're real sure of that? I've been thinking, maybe that's why you've been all up in my face all these weeks. One time offer, Cobb, and only one:" he spreads his hands and gives a beatific smile, "all yours."

A brief pause and he just has to add, "I never paid for it."

*ignores the first part, for now, looking him over well though*

That aint what he told me... he told me you were payin, and thats the *only* reason why he kept coming back

*smirks*

Han notices the once-over. "And what does it say about you that he wouldn't come back even when you WERE paying? Maybe you've been picking at me because you're curious. You want to know what's so much better than you."

if I offered, he'd come, dont ever wonder about that, Solo... and the only thing yer better at then me is bein a wussy little sly-flier... guh men ta shei... *chuckles, knowing full well no one can translate that here*

"Perfect. Though you don't have to have a killer kung fu grip. Relax. If you raise your feet off the ground you'll hover a few feet. But it won't go too high unless you pull on it."

Oh the dirty sentences were piling up.

Han lifted his feet gingerly and the broom didn't move. It was steadier than he thought it'd be. He relaxed the grip a little and guided it in a slow wide circle, imagining he was sweeping the floor and using roughly the same sort of motion.

It was almost exactly like the swoops. He pulled up a little, gaining a few feet of altitude and tried a straight and level flight for a few yards before bringing it back.

"Interesting. Maybe I'll give it another try later."

"Feel free. It's quite fun when you get used to it. We've got a sport that's played on brooms. Kind of like basketball and soccer mixed together...in the air."

He has no idea what either of those are, but nods anyway and hands the broom back. "Thanks. Maybe another time."
