Outdoor Fitness and Strategy [Monday, Period One]

"Good morning, class," Bond began as the last student arrived at the steps of the school, apparently unconcerned by the way his breath was misting in the air as he spoke. "I trust you're all sufficiently recovered from last week's class."

"Today's class is going to be held over near the preserve," he said. "So we'll be heading over there in a moment, but first I'd like you all to collect a pair of gloves from the container to my right, as we're going to be running an obstacle course and they'll come in handy there. We'll also be working in pairs today, with one person running the course while the other spots them, then swapping over, so I'd also advise you to start looking for a partner."

Bond looked around to make sure they'd gotten it, then started off at a slow jog. "Well, if you'll all follow me then."

After grabbing some gloves, Jonas took care to stretch his legs a little better than he had last week. He'd ached for awhile and a repeat of that was not what he wanted.

Kurt didn't grab gloves, since none of them would fit him, anyway. Hopefully his fingers wouldn't freeze.

Zayne grabbed his gloves and got to stretching. He wasn't sure what an obstacle course would involve, but he was sure a good bit of stretching would help.

Wonder if a figure of eight around the school and dorms is really the most direct route to the edge of the preserve.

Despite the cold temperatures, Jonas was better prepared for this run and took it slowly but steadily, not having to pause to walk this time. He felt pleased with that.

Jogging was pretty easy as far as Jon was concerned. He wondered if any of these classes were going to be hard.

Between the chill and the jog, Zayne could at least make sure he was completely awake this morning. The job itself was pretty easy, really. He didn't imagine the rest of the class would be that way.

This might not have been the most direct route, but it did make Sam warmer, so he wasn't going to complain. Not that he regularly complained in class to begin with, but still.

Once he'd finished his run, Jonas did some more stretching to loosen up further and looked around for a partner. Obstacles courses were still new to him so a little nervous about this.

This double workout on Monday morning thing was going to get old, but Rose figured it was probably all for the greater good so she looked around for a partner to go through the obstacle course with.

Jon wasn't really looking for a partner, he was mapping out the easiest way through the course.

Run the Course - OFS [Week 2]

The course consists of monkey-bars, rope-climb, over-under, A-frame, army crawl, cargo-net, balance beams, rope wall climb, and finally the high step-over. There's ground-covering so you won't hurt yourself badly if you fall, but it probably won't be particularly pleasant either.

Kurt, with his double-jointed spine and ability to stick to things, scampered through the course with ease. He went slower than he normally would have, and tried not to make it look TOO easy, for Jonas's benefit. When it was over, he took a bow. "Ta-DA! That's how it's done. Now, you try!"

Codex, rather than greeting like a normal person, offered a note. "I can't do the activity today. I have a note." It totally had her father's signature on it, even if it was a print out of a scanned note, what with her parents being on the other side of the country and all.
