The Perfect Crime [Thursday, Period Five]
Rick looked like a kid who'd just been handed a basket of puppies as the class entered.
"Afternoon, guys," he began, barely waiting for the class to sit down. "Nice to see some familiar faces. For the newbies though, my name is Rick Castle, and for those of you who come from worlds where I'm published, I am the same Richard Castle who wrote the Derek Storm and Nikki Heat novels."
"Now this class is the The Perfect Crime, which I'm afraid is a bit of an exaggeration because..." Rick gestured to the white-board, where he'd written:
The perfect crime has been committed. We'll just never know what it was.
He waited long enough for everyone to have read the board before continuing. "The problem with the perfect crime is that a perfect crime isn't just one where the perp isn't caught, but one where no one ever even knows a crime is committed. Which means we're going to be looking at more imperfect crimes instead. Because seeing where something goes wrong can be even more informative than when it goes right."
"As well looking at examples of both fictional and real life crimes and mysteries, we'll also be looking at some of the basic ideas behind types of mysteries, as well as hopefully getting in some guest lecturers so you can get an idea of how different people design crimes," Rick paused a moment and lowered his voice. "And let me just say that I'm not going to promise anything, but I know a guy who knows a guy who has an aunt...if it comes though, it'll be awesome."
"But that's all for another class," Rick said in a more normal tone. "Today is all about introductions. Name, rank, and type of crime or mystery that most interests you."
"One more thing, I would just like to say that I do not endorse any of you taking up a life of crime, nor should this class be taken as encouragement to do so. Also, I don't have a TA, but if anyone's interested, just come and leave your name with me after class and I'll draw one out of a hat for next week. So that's two more things, actually."

"Oh, and I guess stealing is the crime that interests me most. For... no particular reason."

Unfortunately Jaime got distracted by the thought of free coffee and forgot to answer the third part of that question.

Alice couldn't be normal if her life depended on it.
Re: Introductions - PC [Week 01]
It wasn't her fault they did things differently here.
