BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Timing had worked in Bruce's favor this morning. After a long overnight flight from Japan, he was really early for the shuttle to Fandom. That was according to plan. This way he'd get to see how people came into the room marked "Fandom High," whether they were nervous, or excited, or annoyed at the very thought of having to go to school.

Those first impressions didn't necessarily mean anything, but Bruce felt they often gave a good insight into how his new classmates would react in a stressful situation. You never knew when that kind of thing might come in handy.

[OOC: OCD is coming up!]

"Let me guess, no lady-like enough?" Dru replied with a small grin. "I don't see the point. Plain and practical's a hell of a lot easier to deal with."

Leia flipped her hand through the loops of her braids. "They're the ones responsible for this," she said. "I'm fine with one or two braids or a ponytail to get my hair out of my face, but you have no idea how many pins are keeping this ridiculous style in place."

"It's a bit over the top," admitted the girl who's own wavy hair was pulled back into a simple ponytail.

"It's fashionable where I'm from," Leia said. "I can do without it."

"Hopefully here you can. Unless elaborate braids are part of some sort of weird dress code." Dru shuddered, "If that's the case, I'm going over the wall."

"Where's home?" So she could avoid it.

Avoiding it probably wouldn't be a problem. "Alderaan," Leia said. "It's very far far away from here."

Not knowing any better, Dru assumed she meant some foreign country. "Ahhh. Did you have a good trip at least?"

"Long and boring," Leia said vaguely. "How about you, where are you from?"

"Here and there," Dru told her. "My dad's job keeps him moving from place to place, so I go with him. Mostly it's been in the Southeast but occasionally we'll go further north."

"What does your father do?" Leia asked. "My parents are both in politics."

"I guess you could call him an exterminator," she said, figuring it was the simplest answer. "For particularly specialized pests."
