BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Timing had worked in Bruce's favor this morning. After a long overnight flight from Japan, he was really early for the shuttle to Fandom. That was according to plan. This way he'd get to see how people came into the room marked "Fandom High," whether they were nervous, or excited, or annoyed at the very thought of having to go to school.

Those first impressions didn't necessarily mean anything, but Bruce felt they often gave a good insight into how his new classmates would react in a stressful situation. You never knew when that kind of thing might come in handy.

[OOC: OCD is coming up!]

And if Roy had ever heard a name that screamed 'I come from money' more, he couldn't think of it right now. He returned Warren's wry smile and said, "Nice to meet you."

Warren couldn't have come up with a more aristocratic sounding name if he'd tried. Alas. At about this point, he would have happily traded his name in for something like 'Roy.'

"First time to boarding school, Roy?" Oh, small talk.

Roy was actually 'Roy Harper, Jr.', but it rarely came up, with his father being dead and all. "Yup. It's been public school all the way until now." On the rez the very idea of private school had been laughable, and then Ollie had opinions. "You?"

"Home schooled," Warren replied, shrugging. "I've never really had to do this 'meeting classmates' thing before, honestly."

Something about sprouting wings when you were seven tended to make things like public schooling into a complete no-no.

"You're doing fine so far," Roy assured him. "Just don't diss anyone and you'll be fine."

"Any 'dissing' I do will be completely deserved, I'm sure," Warren decided. "And won't be handed out lightly. I'm not really in much of a position to go around insulting everyone."

At least, not until he got to know them better, right?

Give it a week or so.

Ah, Roy loved the sound of rich kid in the morning. "I'll try not to tick you off, then," he said.

"I appreciate that," Warren replied, even laughing a little. "I suppose if we both keep fairly open minds, we'll do fine."

He was such a rich kid.

Such a rich kid. "Yeah," Roy said. "Sure. I guess I'll have to keep an open mind, too." Because there had to be something he hadn't seen yet. Although after teen Bruce Wayne he wasn't so sure the universe had anything left to shock him.

Fandom was going to be such a learning experience for the both of them!

"I suppose I'll be seeing you around, then?" Look, Warren had just made a friend to whom he bore an uncanny and inexplicable family resemblance. He was going to cling. Subtly.

Roy was used to rich kids, plus there was the uncanny and inexplicable family resemblance, so, "Sure. I don't think it's a big school. Maybe we could hang out." He could teach Warren how to not be such a rich kid.

Warren needed all the help he could get, in that regard.

"I'd like that. We can do..." He waved a hand, grasping for what in the world he was supposed to say, here. "... Whatever it is that guys to when they're away at boarding school."

Nice save.

What guys at boarding school did depended on who you asked, really. "I have no idea either. I guess we'll figure it out when we get there."
