Timing had worked in Bruce's favor this morning. After a long overnight flight from Japan, he was really early for the shuttle to Fandom. That was according to plan. This way he'd get to see how people came into the room marked "Fandom High," whether they were nervous, or excited, or annoyed at the very thought of having to go to school.

Those first impressions didn't necessarily mean anything, but Bruce felt they often gave a good insight into how his new classmates would react in a stressful situation. You never knew when that kind of thing might come in handy.

"We already have an official name?" Jacob asked. "How long exactly have you guys been waiting here already?"

"Most of the students have only been here for a little bit. I got here early, though," Bruce said. "My flight got in a little early."

By which he meant 'on schedule.'

Jacob nodded. "Mine was delayed for half an hour. Which isn't too bad this time of year, I guess. Where are you coming from?"

"Well, my flight came in from Japan, but I'm originally from Gotham City," Bruce said.

"That's a long trip," Jacob said. "Gotham City? Never heard of it. Where's that? Canada?"

"New York, not far too far from New York City," Bruce said. He was caught a little offguard. "I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. It's a pretty big city." Infamous around the world for the crime rates, too.

"Huh," Jacob shrugged. "I haven't, but I'm not exactly an export on geography. I'm from La Push, which is... pretty small."

"Is that in Washington?" Bruce asked. "Near the Pacific coast, right?"

"Yeah, right at the coast. We're west of Seattle," Jacob explained. "We have... a whole lot of trees and water. Nothing thrilling." Besides the vampires and werewolves.

"Have you been there before?" Jacob asked. "I hadn't even heard of it before this week." But then, he'd never heard of Gotham City either, he wasn't feeling like a good judge right now.

"I'll have to wait until we're there then," he said. "Everyone here seems to have a different opinion on what it's like."
