Jim worked very hard on the test.

1) Who in your opinion is the most entertaining President (or leader of your country/world/whatever if you don't have a favorite American President)? Please explain your answer.

2) If you were fishing in a small rowboat and were confronted by a swimming rabbit who was "hissing menacingly, its teeth flashing and nostrils flared and making straight for" you and you only had "limited experience with enraged rabbits", would you:

a) ignore it because it's just a swimming rabbit?
b) row away from the rabbit and find a different spot to fish?
c) flail at the rabbit with your oars like President Jimmy Carter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Carter_rabbit_incident) did on April 20, 1979?
d) other?

Please explain your answer.

3) Personal history question: What's the funniest thing to happen to you this semester?

4) What's the funniest history-themed movie you've ever seen? Unintentional comedy is still counted as comedy, of course.

Jim is totally reading The Book of Basketball. 700 pages of basketball history. It's a pretty insane read.

Anyway, THANK YOU for being a great class and, more importantly, a great excuse to research crazy things from history.

I think I'd have to go with Lincoln. Not only did he do that whole emancipation thing, but he was also creatively non-violent when it came to personal duels. That's a guy I can get behind.

I am so, so sorry I didn't toss one of my kids in this class. I've loved reading it.

Priestly took a lot of time to carefully consider his answer to this question.

I suppose given a couple ~~months~~ ~~years~~ ~~therapy sessions~~ months, getting punched out by the guy whose alternate personality I was for a weekend will be pretty freaking funny.

It was a little hard to think back much further than that, at the moment.

He was shooting the camera man odd looks in a way he was sure was surrpetitious.

"Hey, uh. Just wanted to say. Awesome class."

"Thanks, Priestly," Jim said. "I hope you got something out of it. Even if the thing you got out of it is that there's a lot of funny stories on the internet."

"Well, that, and my mom thinking I've been paying attention to my intellectual enrichment at school." He snuck a glance at the camera man again. "You gonna be around next semester?"

B. Dude, if I see a rabbit swimming and hissing, something is obviously not right there and that rabbit can just have his space. I don't need to be chomped on by a mutant rabbit.

Presidents are not supposed to be funny. They have a job to do, and if they're funny it means they aren't doing it right. So my answer would then be Bill Clinton.

A. It's a swimming rabbit. It has to get out of the water before it can even give you rabies or some other disease.

Okay, now Angela was here for the cameraman. Pulling him aside with a lot of talk of "Do you really have to record this?" and "Can I see that release I signed again?" followed by "I don't want to be recorded," and finally "Fine, if you're going to be that way about it," she sat down in front of the cameraman and the stupid camera.

"First of all, finals are not a joke, and I don't appreciate them being treated that way. I don't know what that was supposed to be, except ridiculous," Angela said. It was like she didn't realize the name of the class or something. "I also just wanted to say that anything you may have caught on tape of me this semester is in no way reflective of me as a person. This island and everything that happens on it is insane, and I was simply reacting to it. Sometimes inappropriately. But not in any ways that should bring shame to my family and friends back home."

And a moment later, seeing his reaction, she insisted, "I do too have friends!"

I liked Theodore Roosevelt. He was a cowboy, he created national parks, his kids kept random animals in the White House, he built the Panama canal, and the Teddy Bear was named after him. It's hard to top stuffed animals.

b), probably, because I could never hit a bunny, even if it was a mean one that was hissing at me. But first I'd do a spell to make sure it was really a bunny and not some weird kind of demon. If it was a demon, I'd have to hit it or something.

Tara answered this question with a long, pointless anecdote about her cat, her roommate's cat, a catnip mouse, and a plate of spaghetti, which didn't really translate well to prose even though it had been hysterically funny at the time -- at least, if you were a cat person.

4. Jim + Ed's Awesome Enterprise. Is it bad if it kind of reminds me of my brother?

I have been a highly entertaining Queen during my reign. I've been told it's rude to vote for one's self, but honesty is a virtue, and I'm certainly more entertaining than Queen Victoria. I mean no offense to her, as I've heard she's pleasant, but she does not quite strike one as fun. I doubt she has ever had a Tea Party for her Unbirthday.

d) I carry a vorpal blade with me. I believe I could confront the rabbit successfully. Though I have my doubts that it is pure rabbit: otherwise, why is it in my rowboat? Perhaps I have caught and killed the first rabbitfish. Science may want the body, but I'll probably cook and eat it.

Leto got me flamingos that we might play croquet. The flamingos now live in the duck pond. Come to think of it, I believe that may have been summer. I woke up male again, and I've had some fascinating tea parties. I wore my wings to work (they aren't real). I antagonized the poor shopclerks in the tea shop. Oh, and I hired someone telepathic whose face smells as though it's on fire. I'm not sure how amusing any of those are. It's hard to tell, for one's own self.

There's a movie made from some of my adventures, from the highly biased version a story-thief wrote down. Several, actually, and most of them are horrible. The worst is the animated one, where they made me blonde and quite silly. If I ever meet her, I shall set her on fire. She's giving me a bad -- well, me.

"Assuming nobody comes up with a good reason to fire me in the next couple weeks, yeah, I'll be back," Jim said. "Probably not with a class like this, though."

[OOC: Sorry for the delay. I unexpectedly went to a hockey game after work.]

"Well, you don't wanna start repeating yourself."

"Oh, I could have done another semester of this without repeating myself. The internet is a treasure trove of lessons," Jim said. "But I think I'd rather stick to something I actually know a little better."

"Yeah? Whatcha got in mind?"

"Something business-related," Jim said. "I think I could help prepare people for the kind of stuff they might have to deal with after they're done with school."

Jim would, of course, take that responsibility just as seriously as he took this class.
