"This week we're going to be covering the larger scale invasions," Aeryn greeted the class once they'd all settled. "While we haven't had any this semester, save for the vegetables, they are common enough to have to prepare to deal with them. Trolls, zombies, snow monsters, these things happen. And while you may be used to facing an enemy on the scale of an actual invasion, it's a bit different in Fandom. We have people born and raised to fight, alongside magic users and those with powers, aside from those who live in the library to find out what's going on and how to stop it. I admit, it's impressive how people work when the time comes, and it's something you probably won't really understand until you see it. And I can almost guarantee that at some point, you will see it.

Passing out what she was pretty sure was their first and only handout for this class, she went on, "I've got a list of tips here. I have a feeling most of what I say would go ignored the microt an invasion actually happened, so hopefully seeing it in writing will maybe make a difference. I want you to look at these, and we'll go over any questions you may have on how to better prepare yourselves."

Take a look at the handout:

Don't go out fighting alone if you can help it, especially if you are inexperienced. There's no faster way to get yourself hurt.
Don't assume you're the one who has to save the day. Heroism looks good on TV, but in real life usually ends in bleeding.
Don't overestimate your own skills, either. This also usually ends in bleeding.
If you have a chance to learn about what you're fighting before you face anything, do so.
Carry a weapon with you, or learn what in your surroundings can be used to defend yourself in a pinch.
Make sure you have additional charge/ammunition for your weapon if needed.
In the case of a serious invasion, these things probably really are trying to kill you. Be prepared to kill them back.
The clinic is not where you want to end up in an event like this. Try to avoid it.
If you can't fight, stick to the dorms.
Support is needed just as much as fighters are. There will always be people needed to stay behind and help others, assist with the injured, retrieve supplies, etc.

"Are there any questions you have? Any additional tips you think should be on here that you would like to share?"

"Listen to those with experience," Raven offered up. "A battle is no place for egos."

From anyone else it might've been sucking up, but it was a genuine sentiment, really!

"Stay behind those who claim to be a better fighter than you," Illyria advised. "If they speak truth, you're protected. If they bluster, their corpses will act as a shield."

Mat grinned and nodded. "Never lead from the front," he said. "A man could get killed there."

"Know your allies' strengths and weaknesses. If your skills compliment theirs, so much the better," Karla said after a moment of thought. "Be as aware of your surroundings as you possibly can. Lead, follow, or get the the Hell out of the way."

"Do not feel guilty for staying behind," Morgana said. "Remember that if harm comes to you because you did not keep yourself safe, it will hurt those who care about you as well."

"Remember, a big enough mallet can squish pretty much anything," Yakko said.

It was relatively sensible advice.

Azula perused the list, "Seems reasonable."
