Journalism Class - Tuesday October 18

Spider is sitting at his desk, head in his hands as the cat chases small amphibians happily through the class room. On the screen behind him is the following announcement.

Today's class is to be devoted to working on our project for Parents Weekend. As Beka Valentine was the only one to come up with a suggestion* we'll go with her idea. If we can get a rough idea of what needs to be done and assign responsibilities during this class period, we'll be doing well.

If there's anyone left without partners for the homework or in a group of less than three, please consult with the professor. Please wait until after he finishes his third drink, however.

Edit: Are we doing a project for Parent's Weekend? Because it looks to me like y'all are working on your homework which isn't the same thing. Could I get a class consensus, please?

* That the player saw, anyway. I don't want to take time from your homework, so let's try to square it away this class period if possible. The player has a medical appointment and won't be back till the afternoon. I will check the thread as soon as I get back.

"You sound like Spider's coffee might be worth the risk for you." Xander scratches his head. "I think we're supposed to be talking about this thing Spider wanted us all to do as a class to impress the parental units, that nobody came up with anything for except you ooc, but at this point who's counting. But everybody's talking about the big Just Say Yes homework projects instead."

"It'd be worth the risk - always is - if I hadn't already had two double-extra-shot extra-large black coffees at the Perk. At this point... No. I need more." She nods. "Uh. Sorry. I actually made the same suggestion IC the next day. Next time I'll skip the suggesting. I'm good with talking about whatever...or nothing. Really. For example...how're your roommates?"

Xander's eyebrows quirk. "All one of him? Still evil, still undead. Last I saw him."

"Mmm-hmmm," Beka says sleepily, and maybe a little distracted. "I thought you lived with Oz, too... oh, no. Duce lives with Oz. Which is strange. So, anyhow, what're you saying yes to?"

Xander's face twists into an expression halfway between a wince and a grin. "It's top secret. We're not telling anybody 'til the propaganda advertising goes up."

Beka shook her head. "O-K. We're doing say 'yes' to Celine Dion. Decided silly was...the order of the day. Entirely too much emo around here." Her eyes slide closed for a minute, then she nods decisively. "Entirely."
