Kappa Kappa Gremlin, Friday Afternoon

"This week, we were going to concern ourselves with the sport of hockey," Arthur started, "But as I began to work on the exercises we were going to tackle, I realised that some of you might not know what it is." Neither did you before this week, Arthur, but nevermind that. "So today, we shall be watching some first. I'm told this," and he shook the DVD labeled Knockout Hockey: Fights and Brawls in demonstration, "Contains a reasonable depiction of the sport."

He cleared his throat. "There is pizza and drinks," he said, "I hear it is customary to have both of them while watching, so help yourself. Any questions? No? Good."

Arthur liked things when he was in charge. He did.

Arthur trusts you will all give it the attention that is customary for the art of watching it. Which is to say mod your drinks and food and violence!

Illyria sat cross-legged with a bowl of chips on her lap, a can of something that might have been beer by her knee, and a frown of concentration on her face.

"This sport pleases me," she said at last, still watching.

Mat was trying--and failing--to look like he watched movies all the bloody time.

"It helps if you take more of a distance," Arthur advised. He was an old hand at this by now.

Which would explain why the volume was also lowered to a point where it didn't completely offend his sensibilities.

"We don't have this," he said. "We have bloody gleeman who flaming juggle."

"We don't have this either," he said, dryly, "But thankfully no jugglers, either."

"You don't have jugglers?" Mat replied. "That's so sad. I can teach you."

Yes, Mat knew how to juggle.

Arthur shot him a look. "We have jugglers in the kingdom," he said, "Just not at court."

If Mat thought Arthur was humorless, he should try Arthur's father.

"Do you have a court bard instead?" Mat guessed. "The gleeman I traveled with thought well enough of himself to be a bloody court bard."

"My father feels that most bards are of such poor quality that they sap a man's will to live," Arthur said, with a shrug, "And he hasn't got much concern for having one in the first place."

"Those must be some flaming tone deaf bards," Mat said, sounding almost sympathetic. "Your father? Not big on fun in general, I imagine."

Chuck was still recovering from class earlier and... now more movies. He was mildly more comfortable with this than he was with the ones he'd had to deal with this morning.

Comfortable enough that he'd be lounging back and watching (and wincing when someone got hit). Ouch.

When they ping in.

Arthur was there and, strangely enough, enjoying himself. Who knew.

Hannibal was there ~~finally omg FREAKING STORM~~ and looking amused at Arthur's choice of topics.

If he pings in!
