"One of the huge advantages of a regular unit it its diversity. The number of different skills that can be brought to bear on a situation is extremely high. That's why we've been doing exercises centered around demonstrating different approaches. But sometimes this turns out to be a huge weakness. Not only does it turn out that sometimes no one has a skill you need, but more often it turns out that not enough people have it. If you have one person on your team who is very sneaky, then inevitably, the mission requires two of them."

"In a fully trained regular unit, further training is used primarily to maintain polish. You don't want your people forgetting what they know, or getting sloppy, but your primary purpose is no longer to teach them skills they don't have. People in irregular units must maintain their current skillsets, of course, but because the skills they'll need are unpredictable, they also have to spend a lot of time learning new things." Max looked over his students with a grin. "Furthermore, because the skills an irregular unit uses are so unusual, most of the teaching has to be done by people in the unit."

"We've already seen how each of you have different skillsets. Today we're going to expand on that. Each of you will select a single skill to teach everyone else. It can be anything you know that you think the others don't. Don't worry about making it something you think is helpful in a fight, remember that irregular missions are very different, and some don't involve any fighting at all. So if you want to teach everyone about cooking, that's just fine."

He wasn't slowing down the run, of course. "If you need to stop running in order to teach, that's fine." But his tone implied that continuing to run would earn some bonus points.

Momoko was running and listening and nodding. Many was the time back home when the Powerpuff Girl that was needed was the one who'd just been tossed into the building down the street and the others had to hold positions until she made it back up.

Anything! Just be prepared for Max to harass you a bit if he doesn't think you're doing it right

"Who wants to learn chemistry?" Anemone sang, spinning around to run backwards for a little bit to beam at people. "And by chemistry, I mean brownies!"

Momoko knew exactly what to teach... although she wasn't sure it would take. With a wish that she was flying so she wouldn't have to worry about the trail Centurion had them on, she spoke up during a lull in the lessons, "Since I've been here at this school, I've noticed that very few of you know how to properly eat! And I don't mean that you're sloppy, although some of you are, or that you eat the wrong foods."

She took a breath. Yes, after only a few words: there was a slope! "Every food has its own proper way of eating it. Noodles should totally be slurped, for example, and never cut with a fork. Sandwich cookies should be separated and the cream licked, then the cookies put back together and eaten. But in general," downhill... breath, "there are some common things that you can learn to avoid problems and embarrassment in the future."

Who better teach something interesting

Anemone had plenty to teach! But somehow she didn't think that Centurian Max would be happy if she stopped running to re-teach the lesson she and Ino had given in Mr. Durden's class on lighting things on fire with mirrors and how it was stupid.

He might be amused, but it would probably earn her extra laps.

Ino was pretty sure her list of things to teach about were way on the side of useful in missions more than anyone else, but yes, she too had plenty to teach.

Even if she was a bit dubious about the whole teaching thing. Ino could be pretty impatient sometimes and some people were slow.
