Punching People for Fun and Profit, Period 1 [Class Seven | 10/21/2009]

Fred laughed a bit, amused about today's class. Again, it was in the Danger Shop for various needed reasons.

The room was a gym, the type with a boxing ring and various bags and equipment in other areas.

Fred stood by the side of the ring, wearing big red boxing gloves.

"Yeah, I decided to swap the schedule a bit," Fred said. "Bouncing we'll cover next week. This week, it's boxing. It's a sport, but it's a sport about hittin' people. Hell, before I taught here, that's what I was doin'. Now, rules vary a lot, so I ain't gonna worry too much about them today. In fact... hell, what else do you really need to know? Now get on your head gear, grab a mouth guard and some gloves, and I want to see you hit something. Whether it's a each other in the ring, one of the bags, or... well, I got a couple of guys programmed in that you can box with, too. Or, if you're feelin' crazy... me."

Fred then grabbed a hammer and rang the ringside bell. "Go to it. Or I'll throw a damn dodgeball at your head."

[ooc: OCD first, please Open, much like Glass Joe's defense.]

Elena sighed, reluctantly. "Fine," she said. "You don't want to get sued, I get that."

She disappeared for a minute or two, then reappeared in the proper equipment.

"I hate talking with a mouthguard in," she said, as clearly as she could manage.

Elena was eying her totally-bizarre opponent. "Are you some weird cross-breed?"

It had to be asked.

She put her hands up, defensively, and waited to see what the ... hippo-guy was going to do. If he moved first, maybe she could find his weaknesses.

It was lucky for her that he telegraphed the blow so strongly -- he looked as though his punches would hurt. She ducked, using her own left to try an upward smash towards his chin.

Elena snickered, especially at the colorful boxers the King was rocking. But she didn't waste any time. While he was grabbing at his trunks, she was going to pelt his face and torso with blows from both arms.

Ducking seemed to work better than blocking; with him, she had a feeling that blocking might dislocate her arm. As he reared back, Elena started throwing punches at his midsection again. He had a bandage over his navel. Maybe that was covering a wound.
