Newspaper Staff Meeting, Friday after classes, Journalism Room [10/9]

Hoshi figured it couldn't hurt to have a little bribery to get people excited about a newspaper meeting on the Friday afternoon before fall break, so she brought candy and hot apple cider.

"Thanks for showing up, guys. I know things have been a little messy right now, with Cal leaving and Joan and I trying to figure out what we're doing," said Hoshi. "But it was so exciting to see the finished paper! Now we just have to keep up the good work. So we have two things to discuss today. First, what are we doing for the next paper? And second, do we still want to put out the paper next week during fall break? Let's hear your suggestions."

"I think maybe we should scrap the paper for next week," Joan said. "Most of us are going away and it's not like there will be that many people left on campus to read it."

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking," said Hoshi. "Besides, I'm sure after next week we'll have more stuff to write about."

Joan nodded. "Yeah, definitely."

There was a rather meek-looking Eleanor at today's meeting. "I'm sorry for not getting my submission in on time. ~~my mun~~ I've been rather distracted as of late."

"Don't worry about it. Things have been pretty chaotic lately," said Hoshi, smiling.

"Oh good," she said, sounding relieved. "I just didn't want you to think I was becoming remiss in my duties."

"I just chalked it up to confusion since we didn't have a meeting last week due to Parent's Weekend," said Hoshi. "But I'll be looking forward to see what you write for the next paper."

"Thank you. I'll see what I can come up with."

When she pings in.

So you know how it's going to be a bad day? You wake up to find that it's freezing and the furnace is dead. Then you get to work to find that their thermostat is broken and it's 90˚ with no air circulation.
