Thanks to everyone who turned in their papers last week in such a prompt manner. I appreciate it immensely. You'll get your papers back on Wednesday. So far everyone's doing well enough.

So far we haven't done much with the practical application of time travel. I want to have you do some not-quite hands on work, some that won't involve having you create paradoxes and me having to fix them. It's a very big pain, trust me.

This week we're going to be doing assignments in pairs. If there's an odd number of students, then there can be one group of three. I want you to take a particular event that happened recently at Fandom High and theorise as to different possible outcomes. Be creative, but don't be outrageous. The hard part of this is that you'll have to check things against your partner's work, so I'd like you to work with people that you don't know as well.

Oh, and Mr Harkness, you're not in trouble, but I'd like to talk to you after class.

Okay, so what would have have to have happened for us to be eaten? I mean, if Coach Ash hadn't stopped them dead when he did, we might still be fighting them.

Well, that's true... and the dorms were pretty safe, so... maybe we would just have been stuck in the Dorms until they all went away? Or, if they didn't... we'd have to start cannabalizing people for food, wouldn't we? And therefore, become just like the zombies ourselves.

Is that how people become zombies? I thought you had to get bit by one.

Well, not become actual zombies, but we'd be no better, cause we were having to eat people to survive, right?

I wonder if that's how we got the first zombies. And can I just say, ew?

Okay, so if Coach Ash hadn't saved our butts, we'd be cannibals in the dorms. Right?

::shrugs:: I read about it in a book. About running out of food out on the ocean. I figured the same sorta principles applied.

But yeah, that's my idea.

Sonia timidly approaches Cally.

"Erm...vould you mind if I joined your group? Everyvun else seems to have partners, already, and I've been cheated byou you since..."

She stops, shakes her head, and clears her throat.

"Sorry...that vas odd."

Umm... that's okay. ::bites her lower lip, concerned::

Well I don't mind if you join us, and I'm sure Jack won't mind, right Jack?

She smiles at Cally. "Thanks! So...sorry, I couldn't help but to overhear, you vere talking about zombie veekend? Rather scary, if you think about vot could have happened if Mamma mia, here I go again, My my, how can I resist you? Mamma mia, does it show again..."

::blinks a few times::

Um... are you okay?

She blinks as well, and puts a hand to her throat.

I- I don't know what you think, the girl means business so I'll offer her a drink.

Realizing this isn't going to get her anywhere, Sonia pulls out her notebook and a pen. She quickly scrawls across a sheet of the paper and passes it to Cally.

I have no idea what's going on- not that that's a surprise in this school. I'll just communicate in writing for the rest of the class, if that's alright with you.

::nods::

Yeah, that'll be okay... now, Jack and I were talking about the different ways Zombie Weekend could have turned out... do you have any ideas?

*reads note* This school just gets weirder and weirder...

She nods.

I know. Nothing's ever normal, from one day to the next. Not always a bad thing, but then again... She gestures to her throat and shrugs, then scrawls more to the note.

Could be worse. ~~Could be raining.~~

I think you mentioned what the most devastating outcome might have been- we lose, and the zombies overrun the school. But what if the changes were on a smaller scale? Say, we lose a few students, or a teacher? We were lucky, as far as casualties went- but what if we hadn't been?

Yeah, we were really lucky... I suppose the whole school would be different, even if only one student or teacher had died.

She nods again, and frowns.

Or what if one of us had been bitten, and turned? How do you think it would have been handled?

Don't mind at all. We're discussing Zombie Weekend and how things could have turned out differently.

"Ah, right. Vell, I suppose the most obvious outcome is that ve lose. But if you think on a smaller scale than that...we had no fatalities on our end. How vould something as minor as, say, losing a teacher or a student have affected the school? Vould it stay on the ground, girl, you better not get too high, but I'm gonna..."

She takes a deep breath and narrows her eyes. "Alright, zis is *not* funny any-you look like a movie star, but I know just who you are."
