Someday, Algren would learn that it was a good idea to review so-called 'educational viewing material' before letting Jim play it for the class. Yes indeed.

Today was not that day.

But it made Jim happy, at least. And that's all that matters.

"So, today we'll be taking a little break from class to watch a movie. Think of it as the modern take on sexual mores," Jim said, smiling far too much for this to bode well for Nathan.

Algren eyed Jim warily. He didn't trust that smile. At all.

"All I know is that it's been deemed educational by a certain colleague of mine who shall remain unnamed." A beat. "So, if it isn't, don't blame this one on me."

Jim just rolled his eyes. "It's a movie day, no one is going to blame anyone. Just start the movie."

Algren hesitated a moment, partly because he was still highly wary, and partly because he wouldn't know what to do with a DVD menu screen if his life depended on it. But, after a bit of wrestling and some cranky glowering at the remote, he managed to locate the "OK" button and on came the educational movie of choice. Canadian Pie.

Jim was a dead man.

Hoshi had no objection to watching a movie.

Though by the time it was done, she had decided that the pie recipe she wanted to try out needed to go back to the bottom of the pile.

Bones wished he could say he was surprised by the movie Jim chose. But he wasn't. He so, so wasn't.

Why did he put up with this crap?

Spock didn't understand the entertainment value of this movie. At all.

Angela was never against movie days. Watching something like this for its 'educational value'? That was pretty awesome.

Still, she had to wonder how it was that good with pie.

... And how many people really did that.

Alex rested his head on his arm and spent most of the movie laughing. There was really nothing wrong with getting to be lazy and watching some ridiculous movie and getting credit for it.

Helen found the movie... intriguing.

Oh, there were going to be a lot of things Tahiri was never going to look at the same way from now on. Orchestral instruments, for example -- the next time she was home, and saw a Bith, she was going to be -- a;lsdjflksadj;lfjsad NOT WONDERING. NO. NO NO NO.

Emma was just going to be over here, thank you, laughing at the teachers and her classmates.

Seregil liked to consider himself fairly adventurous and open minded. But he could think of much better things to do with both pie and certain body parts.

There were so many things wrong with the movie, Karla didn't even know where to start. "Is that what normal high schools in this world are like?" she asked no one in particular.

Diana had already seen the movie and was pretty sure it would be even worse on the second viewing. She was right.

Leda alternated between gaping and laughing her ass off.

When they tag in!

What? Jim thought this was quality entertainment for the era.

Algren spent the entirety of the movie trying to kill Jim with his brain.

Yes. Again.

Shhhh. Lazy day is lazy.
