Student Council | Friday

The classroom where the Fandom High Student Council met had been transformed into a makeshift boardroom for the occasion. Barney sat waiting for them at the head of the table. There were no snacks. Did he look like a woman?

"Look at you fresh-faced politicians in the making! Come in and sit down. Our first order of business is to bet on who will end up with the most gray hair and tarnished soul by January! That person will be one of our seniors and known as the Student Council President. An honor, I'm sure." He wasn't. He thought the president would be his minion.

"On October 2nd break out the invisibility tents because the parents are coming. You all are in charge of planning for it, and I'm told you also get to deal with the mess of Homecoming but we'll talk about your themes more next time." It wasn't like the decor mattered. Barney only ever showed to see all the teachers slutting up.

"So, let's get started! Who's betting on the winning power of nepotism?"

After some deliberation, consideration of the room, and his own experience, Ender wrote down T.R. Wexler and turned it in.

Oh, like George was writing down anyone but Jean Grey on his ballot.

Never one to vote for herself unless it was very clear that she was the only best possible option, Turtle didn't take long to decide who she considered easily the next best choice, especially since they both had the experience behind them. And sure, he was prettier than her, too, but in an entirely different way.

Sam Winchester

Jennifer, of course, put in her vote for Turtle. She was definitely the loyal type.

Sam thought about voting for himself, but one glance at Turtle was all it took for him to write down her name instead.

Triela felt that as the person who had gotten her into this, Turtle deserved both the honor and the insanity-inducing stress of being president, so she wrote that down.

Jean, being boring and un-Emma Frost-like, didn't use her wacky powers to make people vote for her, so...

She jotted down Turtle.

Jenny considered, then wrote down Turtle's name and turned it in. She was pretty sure Wexler could handle it.

"The Arms Hotel," Turtle offered thoughtfully, "has always been a very good place for brunch, and most people will already be staying there. I can talk to Mary to see if she'd be interested in hosting it this year."

"Having it inside would be a really good idea, in case we have bad or weird weather," Sam agreed, thinking of syrup rain and the like.

"We could use the gym for something too," Jean added. "Maybe for Saturday? Oh! We could ask teachers to be there in order to meet parents!"

"It might be easier for the parents to have all the teachers in one place, unless the teachers are like, really attached to their offices," Sam said.

"The offices do give more privacy," Jennifer said. "In case any parents have specific concerns."

"If they had specific concerns," Turtle suggested, "they could use the big meeting as a springboard, and just mention to individual parents to meet them in their office at another time?"
