The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon

Today was the day of the club fair! Wasn't it just so exciting?!

Jean was totally excited.

So excited, in fact, that she showed up early to find it just as everything was being set up like the little overachiever she was. Maybe she'd be able to swing voters here!

Oh look! The club schedule! This was going to be so great, right everyone?!

"My father never allowed it," Emma said simply. "I can always quit if I don't like them, but I want to see what the fuss is about."

"Besides, it's not like I'm going out for cheerleading. I've got Fencing, Young Entrepreneurs, and Alpha Beta Gremlin." Emma wasn't sure how long she'd last in the final group, but it was worth a shot.

"Why would you hang out with gremlins?" Karla asked, now hopelessly lost. "And what's cheerleading anyway?"

"Alpha Beta Gremlin is a sorority, a group of girls that hang out and do makeovers under the guise of academics," she replied. Oh god, trying to put this into non-Earth terms was hard. "And cheerleaders are girls who wear short skirts and cheer on athletes at events."

"Do we have athletes here?" Karla asked. They didn't have sports as such in Kaeleer, but she knew of the concept from the teevee.

"Makeup?" she sounded dubious. "The frat sounds more fun, but Arthur's being a giant ass about it. No cock, no frat."

"You know, I have no idea. If there is a sports team, I haven't seen or heard a single thing about tryouts," Emma answered. "Maybe they'll cheer our fencing meets?"

"And if it's cocks Arthur wants, I suppose a frat is the place to find them. But frats and sororities are supposed to be the same thing, just for different genders."

"They didn't sound the same," Karla said. "But I only read the literature about the sorority. I haven't talked to anyone. Though I doubt the frat will have much to do with makeup."

"I said supposed to be, not actually are," she pointed out. "Besides, if I get bored, I'll just grab a bottle of brandy and go crash the frat meeting. What are they going to do, kick me out?"

"With Arthur there?" Karla asked wryly. "Yes. Still, let me know if you plan to do that. I'll join you. It'll be harder with the two of us."

"Really, darling." Something cold and hard glinted behind Emma's eyes for a moment, and her smile was sharp. "Do you really think a boy could lay a hand on me if I didn't allow it?"

"I didn't mean physically," Karla said. "Though it would be fun to watch him try." Sometimes Karla had a nasty streak. Funny how often talking to Arthur brought it to the surface. "But I'm fairly certain that within a few minutes of arriving, you'd have them all eating out of your hand and wondering why they didn't allow females in sooner."

Emma was just filled with bad fun ideas. Which was probably why Karla loved her so. "Let's," she agreed with a feral smile.

"Or we could just take over the sorority, prank them, and make them wish they'd acceded to your demands in the first place..."

Emma didn't even know Arthur, but she was perfectly happy to plot his downfall if it amused Karla.

"Or I could start a frasorornity next semester," she decided immediately. "Open to both sexes with all the fun things the fraternity is going to do. And run by me, so instantly fun. You can be a co-leader with me," she offered.
