Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Yup. There was still food. And tables. Nothing new about any of that, sadly. But maybe there would be shirtlessness? One can always hope, ya know. Dream big.

She laughed softly.

"Perhaps you sh-should make a list?" Hinata suggested. "And go down that to meet everyone."

"That sounds like a great idea!" said Hoshi. "Or, even better, I can use a spreadsheet so I can add important things that I want to remember about them."

"That sounds like a project that'd take some time," she admitted. "But would be useful when done."

"Back during spring break, I was talking to a couple people about putting together just a list of the people who have significant others, just to help a couple people keep up," said Hoshi. "Though when I thought about it afterwards, I can't seem to keep up with all the relationship changes myself."

"I think o-only the squirrels can do that," she said, smiling. "We're only human, after all."

"No wonder the squirrels drink so much rum! They have so much to go through and yet they manage to keep up," chuckled Hoshi. "So, are you looking forward to the start of classes?"

"I suppose I am," she laughed. "If only b-because they're fun, mostly. What about you? Can't wait?"

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it," said Hoshi. "I know there are people who aren't crazy about school, but I like learning new stuff and I'm eager to take some challenging classes."

"It's a bit distressing to h-have to wait to see if you got into the classes you want though," she confessed. "But I like them as well."

"I know. There are so many good classes, too, but no one can take them all," said Hoshi. "I have my fingers crossed. There's one I'm fairly certain I'll get. Not everyone is rushing to sign up for math."

She laughed quietly.

"I think you're fairly safe on that score," Hinata agreed. "Math is useful--but not fun for most."

"That's true. It's a little bit tougher than a lot of classes, but for me, math is just another language," said Hoshi. "I saw another cooking class, but it wouldn't have been much of a challenge for me."

She nodded. "And there were several history classes, if I r-remember right. There's lots to choose from."

"I always feel a little odd taking history classes sometimes," said Hoshi. "But at least math is something I'll always be able to use."

"For me math is a bit like a s-story," she said, "and nothing more."

"That's another way of looking at it," said Hoshi. "Whatever makes it easier, I suppose."
