Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Yup. There was still food. And tables. Nothing new about any of that, sadly. But maybe there would be shirtlessness? One can always hope, ya know. Dream big.

Turtle was just about to offer out a hand and go into her spchiel about welcoming the really big...cat...dude...thing to Fandom after bouncing up to him, but then got a closer look and found herself somewhat boggling.

"Hooooooooooly crap," she said. "That's not you, is it, Lion-o?"

If it was? Holy crap!

If it wasn't? ...holy crap, still, it was a big cat dude thing. That looked like Lion-o on freakin' steroids.

"Hi Turtle. It really is me, I promise," said Lion-o, looking a bit awkward. "It was a pretty eventful summer, to say the least. I'm still trying to adjust myself."

Holy canolli, that voice. Turtle really couldn't help her current gawking at this utter transformation. Wee little Lion-o was now...

"That," she stated, wide eyed, "is one heck of a growth spurt, Lion-o."

"We were traveling in suspension capsules, meant to suppress the aging process during long interstellar flights, but mine failed," said Lion-o. "It was weird. I just turned 15 a few weeks before this all happened. To me, it only feels like it's been a couple months since I left Fandom."

To that, Turtle could only let out a long whistle, shaking her head.

"Man. It's only been a couple months for me, too, and I'm not even in the beefed up body, and it's still weird."

"Well, I did some interstellar travel in the meantime, and it can take ages to get from one galaxy to another," Lion-o added.

"Still," Turtle said, shaking her head. "Space travel is so above my head it's not even funny. And now you're all above my head now, too. And...like...beefy."

SO. WEIRD.

Lion-o's face turned red, almost matching his hair. "Yeah, the height takes some getting used to. So does the voice, actually," he said.

"It's....really deep," said Turtle, unable to help a giggle. "Do you still have that...what was he, a nursemaid? hanging around?"

Because that would be kind of hilarious.

"Snarf? Like he would let me do anything on my own," said Lion-o. "He came back to Fandom with me. I don't know how I would make my bed without him."

Turtle just kind of looked at Lion-o for a moment, and could utterly believe it. She could not picture him making his bed. Right now, he was just too beefy. Before, he was just too bouncy.

And now she was trying not to think of Lion-O being bouncy now as he was. Man, this was a total head trip.

"It is good to have you back, though, Lion-O."

"It's good to be back," said Lion-o. "This place has a lot less earthquakes than Thundera. Then again, I didn't spent a lot of time on my new home world before coming here."

"A lot of earthquakes? So kind of like California!"

"Sort of, if California had lots of volcanoes and eventually tore itself up from the inside from all the volcanic activity," said Lion-o.

"I don't know," Turtle admitted with a shrug, "I've never been there before."

"And I'm afraid that I don't know enough about the geography of this planet to tell you," said Lion-o, frowning. "That's something I need to fix."

"You think?" Turtle asked, tilting her head up at Lion-o. "I mean, you're not from this world, right? Do you think you'll be doing much with the geography of this planet? Not that I'm dissing you picking up the information if you're interested, of course."

"I think that just picking up lots of information is a good thing, especially right now. I have people at home who are counting on me to rule when I return, and the more I learn, the more effective I'll be," said Lion-o. "Or at least, that's what I'm hoping."

...and Lion-O definitely looked more like a leader now that he did before.

Even if this was still super weird.

"I think you'll do great, Lion-o."
