Cafeteria - Lunch Time [Thursday]

The lunch special today was spaghetti.

Joan was happy about it until she realized that the little grey and white kitten with her was going to attempt to eat spaghetti.

Which meant he was going to be a mess.

By lunchtime, Turtle still had plenty of Pop-Tarts left and decided that if anyone was willing to brave the cafeteria food, they'd be likely to go for something a little more trustworthy and she could peddle them off on them despite impending at-work SP.

"Hey, Joan!" she waved to the other girl as she headed over to her table. "How's it going? Want a Pop-Tart? Who's the cat?"

"Ooh, Pop-Tarts!" Joan said. "It's going okay, Turtle. And the cat is Liir. How's everything with you? It seems like it's been ages since we talked."

"There's a ton," Turtle said, pulling out a few for Joan, "so help yourself. And it really has been ages."

She gave a wave to the cat, too. "Hi, Liir. I'd offer you Pop-Tarts, too, but you seem pretty content in your spaghetti."

Her attention then shifted back to Joan. "Almost done yet? With your workshops?"

Liir!kitty mewed at her with his spaghetti sauce covered face.

Joan sighed and took a few of the Pop-Tarts. "I have my music final tomorrow and that's it. How about you?"

Due to Joan's sigh, Turtle tried not to grin, but it was almost impossible not to grin when things involved a cat (that wasn't your responsibility, anyway) covered in spaghetti. Impossible!

"All done," she said, "unless I'm glaringly forgetting the obvious. And my tough ones were both yesterday, although they were about the same. Running away from and trying to survive things trying to kill you, although, really, when you've been here as long as I have, even that gets a little old hat."

"Got anything interesting planned between now and when the new semester starts up?" Joan asked.

"A lot of rest and relaxation," Turtle said with a nod. "The next year is going to be full on busy as crap, so I've got to get it before it all starts off with a bang with the start of the semester, ohmygosh."

Joan nodded. "You running for Student Council again?"

"Oh, definitely!" Turtle said, with a great spark of enthusiasm, as if she hadn't been talking about this topic ALL WEEK. "It's senior year! There's a chance to be Student Council president this time. It's the big leagues."

Her head tilted. "Are you..not running again, Joan?" she asked, blinking a little innocently.

"I... don't know yet," Joan admitted. She had enjoyed StuCo, but if God didn't make her run again, she probably wouldn't.

"Well," Turtle said, smiling against the fact that little bells of joy and jubilation were going off in her head at having just a little less competition, "if you do run, it'll be great to be in it with you again. So much fun. And, hey, we're a good team! Our multicultural fair was a big hit. We actually might want to look into doing something like that again with new kids coming in."

"We definitely should see about that," Joan agreed. "Maybe we can talk to Principal Winchester next week and see if we can plan it."

Turtle's head bobbed in a nod. "The planning should be easier if it's our second one!"

"Totally easier," Joan said. "We're experts!"

"Very well-versed in the multicultural experience," Turtle said, with a sage nod, thinking of how all this sounded very good for a campaign.

"No one better qualified to organize it than us, really," Joan agreed.

Robin was missing the Swedish Chef today. The food may have been weird, but it was entertaining.

He spotted Joan and her companion and the spaghetti. "And me without a video camera."

"I'm sure Liir appreciates that," Joan said.

"Oh that's Liir?" Robin said. "I didn't know he'd turned into a cat. When did it happen?"

"Just yesterday," Joan said with a smile. "I'm hoping it won't last too long."

"I'm sure it'll just be for a week or two."

Joan frowned. "I was hoping more like a day or two. Though when Penelope turned into a pig, it was for over a week."

"A day or two would be better. You know I bet Turtle and Canary does really good business in pet care products."
