Criminal Justice: Wednesday
The danger shop was turned back into the MTAC when the students arrived and Gibbs was already there sipping his coffee. This time the room looked normal and there wasn't a badger in sight.
"As you'll recall our initial investigation was regarding Petty Officer Carolyn Figgis. She was found dead in a bunker due to suffocation. Evidence surrounding the body appears to show that our suspect had a strong fascination for the 1950's and appeared to consider that an idyllic time period. No fingerprints were found and our lead appeared to be a similar disappearance in another Navy base in Jacksonville, Florida. Her name was Petty Officer Barbara Swain."
Gibbs pointed at the first picture that showed up on the screen. It was a woman with blond hair and wearing a Navy uniform. "The first person interviewed was Swain's roommate who reported her missing. Swain left for work one morning and was never seen again. The roommate reported that Petty Officer Swain was well liked though she had a bad habit of meeting 'losers' for boyfriends. PO Swain blamed herself for these relationships and mentioned she was going to seek help for it."
"We didn't find any record of her going to a Navy therapist," Gibbs said bringing up a picture of a man in a Chaplain's uniform wearing a purple liturgical stole around his neck. "However we did find that she met with Chaplain Evans. The Chaplain recalled meeting Petty Officer Swain once, and tried to help her with her issues on to have a more fulfilling life and seek someone who would help her more at a spiritual level. Petty Officer never made a second appoinment to met with the chaplain. Both the Chaplain and the roommate mentioned that Petty Officer Swain frequented several local bars where she would meet people."
"We were able to track down two other people Petty Officer Swain was seeing at the time," Gibbs said bringing up two more pictures. The first was a tall man wearing fatigues and a buzz cut. "The first was Chief Petty Officer Alan Drewe. Before he came into the Navy he was a drywall sbucontractor and is left handed. When questioned about knowing Petty Officer Swain, Drewe claimed he had only met her once at a bar and never talked to her after that. He also claims he had never met anyone by Carolyn Figgis name or description."
Gibbs then brought up another picture of man in a officer's uniform. "Captain Marshall Buckner. While he's right handed he does have a domestic disburbanch charge on his record. Captain Buckner admitted to having an affair with Petty Officer Swain but that it ended rather abruptly when she found out he was married."
"Everyone pictured here has at one point or another been stationed at Norfolk or Jacksonville during the appropriate time period," Gibbs announced. "One of them is responsible for kidnapping and murdering Carolyn Figgis and the abduction of Barbara Swain. Give me your theories on which one of the suspects is the person responsible."

"Two things," he said. "There was something purple at the crime scene, wasn't there? And there were knee marks on the ground, as if the victim -- or someone -- were forced to pray."
