"Right," Glinda said, "performances are next week. I look forward to what you will show for each of your pieces. Today you will have free time to work on your project, and ask me questions about it, if you so desire. Please work quietly, and take as much of the food as you like."

Glinda had gotten creative today, and all the food and drinks were items that were referenced in songs: cherry Coke, slider cheeseburgers, canned peaches, candy, pizza and pasta fazool.

Yes, she had no bananas.

Yakko hadn't made it to class last week, so he didn't actually know what the assignment was. But anyone who thought that knowing what the assignment was would make the slightest impact for Yakko probably didn't know him well at all.

After all, he was going to have a well-choreographed impromptu musical number one way or another next week. And this week he was going to waste on snacking without doing any work regardless of how much he knew.
