"Right," Glinda said, "performances are next week. I look forward to what you will show for each of your pieces. Today you will have free time to work on your project, and ask me questions about it, if you so desire. Please work quietly, and take as much of the food as you like."

Glinda had gotten creative today, and all the food and drinks were items that were referenced in songs: cherry Coke, slider cheeseburgers, canned peaches, candy, pizza and pasta fazool.

Yes, she had no bananas.

"Sure, why not?" Joan asked. "You're still you. Just in a different, uh, package."

Possibly not the best word choice, but well.

"And it's not like I've never kissed a girl..."

Not that there had been kissing yet between her and Liir, mind you.

Joan's cheeks were still a little pink but she nodded. "Yeah, pretty much."

He waited for a moment before grinning.

"We have some more cooking to do tonight for the luau. Perhaps you'd like to help me?"

"Sure, I could do that," Joan said, smiling back. "I have to go buy some decorations this afternoon, but I'm free the rest of the day."

"I enjoy it. And I like feeling useful."

In fact, he needed it, especially after the 'other' fandom island adventure.
