"Today is our next-to-last class, so I feel I should tell you that next week's class will not take place in the Danger Shop here, but at a gallery in town. Be prepared to bring any tools you believe you'd need to stage a break-in." Sophie's smile was wide.

"Now. Today's assignment." She hit a button and the setting changed to an opulent palace, Tibetan and Chinese in design, with a ceremonial dagger encased in glass on a raised dais in the middle of a throne room. "The Phurba, or kila, from Tibet. Currently in the possession of an insane warlord. The three sides of the blade represent the blade's power to transform negative energies known as the "three poisons" of attachment, delusion, and fear. Only those who are initiated in its use can wield it. His possession of this artifact gives him great symbolic power inside his domain." Sophie's eyebrows went up. "Get into this palace, and past his guards, to retrieve the dagger, and the people of his country go free from his brutal reign, as the loss of the dagger and status will turn his own men against him."

"Good luck."

"Maron. How are you this week?" She looked better, Sophie was relieved to see, and hoped that was truly the case.

"I am dealing with things better," she said, honestly enough. "I had a conversation that helped put it together better."

"I'm glad to hear that." Sophie smiled at her gently. "I didn't want you to remain upset over what happened there. I'm glad someone helped you."

Maron considered, for a second, trying to explain that she was still upset, just less upset and that she'd found a way that made the sting of it hurt less, but decided, for the moment, not to.

"Thank you," she said simply, then shifted a bit. "I'm not sure if it's--proper? Or something. But I just wanted to say 'congrats on owning your own gallery' too."

"Thank you," Sophie said. "I think I was rather lucky about the timing. It would've been a shame if the gallery had had to close simply because Miss York was getting married and leaving the island. You heard about it on the Radio, then?"

Maron grinned, and bouncing a little on her heels. "I did," she said, nodding. "I mean, I don't think I could've learnt about it another way? And that's definitely true--it would have been sad if the gallery had had to close."

"So you'll have ever so much fun helping me find any holes in the security system next week," Sophie said, mischievous. "I can't re-open until I'm secure it its integrity, can I?"

"Do you really think that there's a way to secure it against everyone and everything?" Maron asked, honestly curious.

"Not using our current technology, no," Sophie admitted. "But. There may be steps I can take that I'm not aware of; and the main intent in alarm systems, after all, is to delay someone so long that they either give up for fear of being caught, or the authorities arrive. Anything that makes it very very difficult is something I want to implement."

Maron nodded, and laughed. "That makes sense!" she agreed. "I just didn't know if it was possible to stop everything!"
